Apparently they fixed the darn Trueglass issue.

Posted on their FB page.

Now we just need Flytampa KATL for a complete package 🙂

I doubt that they have fixed TrueGlass. The VRAM footprint of the new version is exactly as big as before. They posted officially that one should use the Legacy Render panel files (no rain effects) in case of VRAM shortage.

Vram and trueglass to me are two different issues. I’m simply wanting to use trueglass again and not have it cause a ctd in the md80.

Does it install it automatically for the -80 or do Leonardo need to issue their own patch?

The tfdi 717 will update trueglass to the newest which the md80 also uses.  However TFDi may claim its fixed.  I'm still awaiting 3rd party confirmation to say its fixed.  I haven't had a chance to test it yet.

I installed this update but it is not working for me.  Engines running but all gauges are blacked out and nothing in the VC is clickable.  I posted in their forums and it looks like several others are having the same issue.  Haven't flown this in a couple years.....

Are you saying TFDi717 is now available in V5? I see nothing on their web site nor does addon manager have a V5 install. Perhaps I misunderstood.

It is...maybe you have to update the addon manager?  I had it fully uninstalled to I had to download the Addon manager again.  But see my post above....the aircraft does not seem to be working for some of us....

Negative. This isn’t really that much of an update from the beta to my knowledge. Though they did say eventually they will be doing a new version. Probably based on what they learn from the md-11

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

So my experience with the 717 in v5 was this:

-Nothing in the cockpit works, switches don't move
-I hear sounds but nothing is on (flight deck screens, external lighting, etc)
-Immediate CTD due to the DXGI (TrueGlass)
-Turning TrueGlass.dll.OFF solved the DXGI CTD but the aircraft was still broken.

So until I know what is going on I will be uninstalling for now...very dissapointed as I've been waiting for her in v5...

Yes.. I had the same experience as Mets737.

I had so much fun with the 717 in P3DV4 and was looking forward to using it again in V5.1HF

It was not to be.... could not even power up the aircraft. Like Mets737 said : not a single switch moved. Straight away a DXGI Hung error.

Can't be bothered what the cause of this was. Uninstalled the aircraft again. And this time final.
