December 20, 20205 yr More awesome city packs coming out! I love these even more than airports! https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/203234-introducing-landmarks-paris-for-microsoft-flight-simulator/ Hope they will come out with more city packs for Asia! Can't wait for their Singapore one! December 20, 20205 yr Looks pretty good and I'm glad my favourite city in the world by far, is getting some attention, but I'm also of hoping eventually France VFR will have a more extensive stab at Paris. It's a massive area with three major airports and so many iconic buildings, parks, boulevards etc that adding 200 POIs as this effort does, barely scratches the surface because when they talk about getting to know 'the real Paris', for me that includes the scruffy areas where the markets are up past Bel Air just as much as it includes the posh shops down the Champs-élysées. December 20, 20205 yr Because I'm french and living at Paris, I certainly won't buy it 😉 But mainly because Paris downtown is a free fly zone in real (Prohibited 23 from Surface to 6500 ft). So for those enjoying the touristic part of sim, it really makes sense (no offense) but for those enjoying the sim part... PS: talking of FranceVFR, they just release "Obstacles et Repères VFR" (obstacles and VFR points). Quite expensive (40€) and few improvement since FSx/P3D (water towers too much visible for example): I'm a undecided customer 😉 Edited December 20, 20205 yr by vbazillio Vincent B. December 20, 20205 yr I don't know why but I strongly suspect France will be the 3rd World Update... Edited December 20, 20205 yr by Noooch

Quite expensive (40€) and few improvement since FSx/P3D (water towers too much visible for example): I'm a undecided customer 😉 Well that's the fun part about flight sims, you can fly wherever you like, and even if you wanted to follow the rules, you could always pretend you were the army or the police or something with a dispensation and just fly there anyway! But yes, even though 40 quid is a bit pricey (actually it is discounted a tenner in MSFS if you have the P3D version, but that's still a bit on the steep side), that France VFR Obstacles and Landmarks add-on is probably more useful in a realistic VFR flying sense to make the landscape of France look a bit more like it actually does. One thing you really do notice about flying in France is that it has really distinctive power line pylons which are very different from a lot of other countries and these are a big part of VFR navigation in France. France VFR's stuff is always a little bit on the expensive side but in fairness, they are usually geographically quite generous in size, so in defence of the price of that add-on, France is the largest country in Europe - nearly three times the area of the UK if I recall correctly - so it does add stuff covering a very large area. In addition FranceVFR has never managed with success how to achieve a minimum acceptable performance level on any of their products for Ile-de-France. The ORBX product looks nice and interesting and that shot of the Centre Pompidou is simply amazing. La Defense seems to be represented in high detail also, with the names of the different towers on top very well depicted. Gotta agree with that one. That scenery is fantastic in scope as anyone who has downloaded the (very many - what is it ten zip files? something like that) exe files for it will attest lol, so it definitely has the ability to bring pretty much any computer to its knees if you don't watch your settings in P3D. On the plus side for it, it is a massive amount of bang for your bucks. I think it soups up about twenty airports and adds PR terrain and custom autogen objects over what seems like half of Europe lol. December 20, 20205 yr Even though cities are important in MSFS, I wished they would have focused their efforts on airports in tropical destinations. I don't see myself buying too many of these cities when the default cities with mods are good enough for me. MSFS
December 20, 20205 yr Author I would love a complete and fully detailed package for the entire Hawaiian Islands! December 20, 20205 yr Author Same, Hawaii is not that large. Orbx needs to make a city package for Honolulu. I know they have one for P3D but I mean for MSFS, since it's not photogrammetry. I also don't think developers are doing any research. They are out of touch with what customers crave. MSFS
December 20, 20205 yr if it's hard for you to wait for the release of the Orbx version, this free version is quite impressive! Je l'adore! https://flightsim.to/file/4605/paris
December 20, 20205 yr That first preview screenshot was not too kind on the eyes hopefully they won’t release it like that. Maybe am being a bit pessimistic as I wasn’t best pleased with how they handled London landmarks but we shall see.
