November 30, 200619 yr Hi all,I am back, as promised. The snow in Seattle slowed me down a few days, but its still the week after Thanksgiving :-).I have updated my blog, at http://blogs.msdn.com/ptaylor/default.aspx with:1) A post to recount my history, so you can get to know me professionally.2) A repost of my original "FSX:Today and Tomorrow" AVSim post.3) A post affirming we are creating a release to address some of the issues that have been discussed on this forum with FSX RTM, with a brief discussion.I want to direct discussion to my blog, by and large, because I know we won't lose a thread there. I dont want another unfortunate incident like the loss of the previous thread to inhibit my communication with the community. I will try to respond to all reasonable posts on the blog.I apologize in advance for not providing more details on what is in the release, but until we get a bit further in solving what our investigations have uncovered I want to be careful in not overpromising. Thanks for your patience, I look forward to continuing the discussions.PhilSenior PM, Graphics and TerrainAces StudioPS. I will, from time to time, reply here at AVSim. I will, however, be using the blog for "official" communications like this in the future. So expect to see more blog postings. ex-Aces Lead PM, FSX SP1 and SP2 ex-Intel LRB native title enablement, ex Intel Gaming and Graphics Samples PM now Graphics and Multicore PM in Visual Computing Software Enabling.

November 30, 200619 yr One quick question...Is there anything to be said on the idea of FSX to be the last of backward compatibilty and start FS11 with a new engine?
November 30, 200619 yr Great Phil, you are doing this right. Feedback is important, and solutions even more.Just understand, that a minority runs FSx on very high end systems, and the rest has to do it with much less. And may I point you to my sig below, a very well known singer, known as The King, made a song about it,and you know well, the King is always right.. suspicion.. JohanA LITTLE LESS CONVERSATION, AND A LITTLE MORE ACTION PLEASE..
November 30, 200619 yr Hello Phil, nice to hear that you're back and thanks for the updated Information on your blog. Also good to read that your repost from the AVSIM post is now on your Blog. Many positive Feedback was stated on it - also from my Side.Additional to the bugs still multiple reported at the AVSIM forum there is a little wish from me that maybe will not take much Effort to fix. The ocean waves are shown well if I approach a coast. But if I get nearer to them (estimated less than 2 miles), then they're all gone (not displayed anymore). I'm unsure if only I have this Problem.Meanwhile I'll enjoy the Christmas Time and then I'll look forward to the Update planned by the Aces-Team for 01-2007. Hopefully Quality will win against the planned Delivery - and I'll be thankfull for every Bug that will be resolved with this bugfix.Always happy landings Heinz-Werner
