DigitalDesign Releases LOWS V2 - P3DV4 and V5

Featured Replies

https://fselite.net/news/digital-design-releases-salzburg-v2-for-p3d/

A new LOWS (updated from v1 to v2) P3D V5 airport is released from a well known Developer at Simmarket and later ORBX too.

This looks great. Also some parts of Salzburg City are included which makes the approaches promising.

It is nice to see that some devs are releasing new/updated products for this platform.

Quote from FSElite. I marked some nice enhancements. Especially PBR is used!

Differences for v2

  • The actual state of the airport with the latest changes.
  • Improved almost all objects, using PBR materials and textures
  • Increased textures resolution.
  • New ground with support for PBR and current state.
  • New models of static vehicle.
  • Improved historical city center with the addition of new landmarks.
  • Added interior to Terminal 2 Amadeus and tower.
  • New AFCAD.
  • GSX config
  • Minor fixes

I just counted my new P3D V5 airports which I all bought in 2020

45 Airports I bought just in 2020 and this year 5! I did actually counted 3 times.....I was shocked but also pleased to see that it is worth spending some money on my hobby at P3D flightsimming!

If someone bought it, feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Marcus

Just a heads-up for users of ORBX Germany South:
Even though located in Austria does ORBX include customizations for LOWS Salzburg. There is an exclusion in my AFCAD that comes with the new DD Salzburg, which should prevent any ORBX content from showing. But better make sure to deactivate some files.

In the folder ORBX\FTX_EU\FTX_EU_GES_05_SCENERY move the following files to a non-active folder or rename their file type from bgl to off:

ADE_FTX_GES_LOWS.bgl
ADE_FTX_GES_LOWS_CVX.bgl
FTX_GES_LOWS_objects.BGL

Best,
Christoph

Yep I also got the whole DD catalog a few days ago, especially happy to spend on devs which are not abandoning their original P3D customer base...

Did anyone install LOWS already? I tried 2 times and it is not installing, even so it says that it has been installed correctly.

P3DAddonOrganizer shows the scenery. One thing during the installation I need to repair my SODE engine; didn't have that with any other

scenery installation. Reinstalled v1 with no problems.

Tried the Simmarket Installer this morning and had no problem.

Have you uninstalled and deregistered v1 before progressing with v2? Also, the automatic SODE installer is the most current version available. It should automatically recognize if your SODE installation is up to date and will in this case skip the installation step. But a repair message does indeed indicate some problem with SODE that might have been unnoticed until now.

Christoph

Thanks Christoph,

I think I made the mistake by just deleting the LOWS folder and then deleting the scenery withhin the AddonOrganizer. As I have reinstalled v1 now I will uninstall it correctly and remove it withhin the PAO. Would that be sufficient for a new install?

Not used PAO before Peter, but it does sound sufficient.

If that does not help just try the following:
Rename your P3D main folder to something like Prepar3D v5off and make a new, empty dummy folder Prepar3D v5. In that dummy folder just place a copy of the Prepar3D.exe and point the installer to that dummy folder. Doing so you will get the Effects folder and the Scenery folder. Copy them to the place you want to have your add-ons for PAO, delete the empty P3D dummy folder, and rename the original folder back to Prepar3D v5.
Sounds rather technical but it is actually easy. And if you are facing any problems feel free to contact me via PM on German. We can also arrange a TeamViewer session if you still face problems.

Best,
Christoph

How does the integration with Austria HD West work? Same as with V1 or is it working now without adjustments?

Servus Karl!
Cannot comment on this unfortunately, as neither Evgeny (the developer) nor I do own Austria HD. But landmarks can be manually disabled if you see duplicate objects with other add-ons. I think v2 should not behave different than v1 in that regard.

Best,
Christoph
