Anyone know if OpenXR is completely separate to this and free of the original problem?

If you don't have SteamVR running then it won't affect you.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

maybe placebo but asw looks better on rift s

I'm running with ASW on auto in Oculus Tray Tool, and it looks better for me too. Smoother performance.

AMD Ryzen R9 9950X3D | Asus Astral RTX 5080 OC | 32 GB DDR5 6000 CL30 | 3440x1440 G-Sync | Logitech Pro Throttles Rudder Yoke Panels | Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS | TrackIR 5 | Oculus Rift S

I'll try it again.

I didn't notice a difference with OTT

Asus Maximus X Hero Z370/ Windows 10
MSI Gaming X 1080Ti (2100 mhz OC Watercooled)
8700k (4.7ghz OC Watercooled)
32GB DDR4 3000 Ram
500GB SAMSUNG 860 EVO SERIES SSD M.2

A noticeable improvement in FPS on Reverb G2 when using Steam OpenXR. It's now running more smoothly than WMR OpenXR on my system. The FPS has increased enough that steam motion smoothing is quite effective and the pin-cushioning VR bug has been fixed. However, only headset pan/tilt tracking is working and for some reason I can't lean forward or backward (z axis) without the cockpit moving with me.  It still doesn't enter into games elegantly as there's still a strange stutter for a second or two just as a race or flight starts

Two steps forward, one back 🙂

Edit - G2 boundary may have reset when switching to steamXR. Setting it back to seated / standing in WMR settings fixed it

After extensive running yesterday the latest drivers are still causing stutters for me, did a complete Driver Clean as well. They are better than the other 460 drivers but not by much as my benchmarks prove in the other thread, 457 is clearly much more smooth and overall better for me on my system so I'm sticking with that.

i have to say for me improvement was marginal and did not last

Seeing the same here with a different config:  3800x/570/3090/HP G2.  The 457.30 is just a lot smoother than 461.33 on my setup.

Played several different games over last 48 hours. Although the new driver in Steam OpenXR has a higher FPS overall, there are the occasional big pauses in some games like Assetto Corsa and Starwars Squadrons, which aren't there in WMR OpenXR, but at least things appear to be improving. BTW I'm on Win 10 1909. Haven't yet tried all this on 20h2.

1902 with 461.33 set to steamOpenXR has too many audio pops and crackles through the headset, long pauses and I've now lost the G2 boundary a few times. I'm not sure the extra FPS is worth the other inconveniences

^ sorry - that should have read 1909 above

20H2 with 461.33 set to steam OpenXR, HAGS on or off,  performs a lot worse on my system in MSFS VR, but this combination works as smoothly as the older drivers in other games, which is odd.

20H2 with 461.33 set to WMR OpenXR works equally well in all games so far

Overall 1909 seems to be a little less affected by tiny stutters and has a slight FPS improvement, regardless of Open XR and driver combo, on my system
