Don´t let anyone tell you otherwise. That is why every VFR pilot must be absolutely familiar with the terrain he intends to fly over. It is not allowed to fly over terrain they don´t know, but I think they have a waiver coming for that if you familiarize yourself with MSFS. In X-Plane it is absolutely impossible to fly from Heathrow to the Birmingham using visual navigation only, for example, because all the houses look the same and the M1 could just be any motorway!

Oh God. I just knew my daughter in-law was a little minx. When she flew me from Norwich to Exeter she conned me into believing she was looking out for features in the landscape. And how stupid I was to believe her. I knew she was telling porkies because when I tried it in X-Plane there was nothing to see or recognise and her lies were exposed.😂

February 10, 20215 yr Yes I am sure MSFS is perfect and all the houses are the right colour shape height and at the exact cordinates, what was mentioned few days ago about a 2 story being a 20 story block of flats or something. Why do people love to just argue, but as I said before thats teh world today. Demanding. Nothing is ever good enough and they can always do better, but rather complain than do anything to help.
