There was supposed to be another Feb update after UK.

Featured Replies

Listening to the live blog that was release a couple weeks back we were supposed to get two updates in February.  UK was one and a sim update was the second.  It's getting a little thin on days left, thought the next update was going to be today.  I was looking forward to the FDE issues getting fixed and the oversized airport signs getting addressed among other things.

The latest road map from February 4th says it should be out next week. It was delayed from this week, most likely because of the UK update being delayed.

Considering the UK update was delayed again since this roadmap came out, I'd add another week to that.

Yep today's update confirmed what I said, delayed again.

Edit: oh but it had nothing to do with the world update.

Instead Asobo'll be releasing a (not-so) hotfix for the flaps problem next week after initially refusing to do so.

By the time MSFS finish there roadmaps there will not be any ash felt left on the road, and they will be back into dirt roads and us old flight simmers will be gone 😂

This announcement has been out for the good part of a day maybe more:

Based on recent feedback from the community about the flaps issue that was introduced in World Update III, we decided to address the issue as quickly as we can and to publish a hotfix next week. As that will require thorough testing, we will be pushing back both Sim Update III and World Update IV by a week. Sim Update III is targeting early March and World Update IV is targeting early April. We appreciate your continued feedback on issues like this as we strive to do right by our community.

Our next live Developer Q&A on Twitch will be March 10th at 10:30am PST (1830Z). More details will be provided soon on our forums.

The thread is already full of whiners, one lot abusing them and demanding the hotfix right now straight away before the weekend, and the other lot complaining about the resulting delay to the updates and saying the hotfix is unnecessary and why are they bothering 😄

I can't say i'm exactly impressed with Asobo's handling of this, either in missing the fault during testing (for a release already delayed multiple weeks) or then for their initial refusing to release a hotfix for a specific, already identified fault that adversely effects every plane.

Mum I want this. Mum I want that. Mum? Muuum! Muuuuuuuuum!

Seriously If I was working for Asobo I wouldn't have much more motivation to get anything done for that ungrateful bunch of users.

Are we all back to the kindergarten now?

Expecting Asobo to fix a problem they created doesn't seem unreasonable to me.

But the way these expectations are expressed here in the forums do often.

Ever wondered why we dont hear from them on forums? 😄

Im in the fortunate position of talking to 6 or 7 asobos dev on a daily basis (private 3rd party dev discord) and i can tell you, they are an amazing bunch of guys, so, SO helpful and passionate about what they do, and they answer all our (sometimes silly) questions. They want to make it as good as we all want. Its just a huge task. From what i can gather, its actually Microsoft thats making our life harder, but obviously, they also have their reasons.

Anyway i agree, we get amazing content for FREE every 2 months, we get constant dev update about what they are trying to do, but still, some people feel like they are entitled to much more. All this we never had in any other legacy sims (except maybe XP11).

So you confirm my impression that I have of the Dev guys. They work as hard as possible under the current circumstances and I am very much enjoying the sim and I am convinced it will get better and better with time.

Some people really should think of their own behavior and maybe reflect their own way of working in their everyday job.
