February 26, 20215 yr .....think folk are feeling the pressure of non flightsim stuff (outside world). Persistent anxiety takes it's toll and it may be prompting an over reaction by some. MSFS 2020 i7-4790k @ 4.4ghz for the moment. Asus z87-k mobo. GTX 1080, 32gb ram. couple of SSDs....Saitek X52

It's folks like you wot cause unrest! 😄 Seriously, I can't echo what @leprechaunlive says here enough. Everyone I've talked to who's involved with the sim, from either Asobo or Microsoft, has been enthusiastic, passionate, and determined to put out the best product possible. There are issues, and there have been missteps, and they can be aggravating at times, even the folks involved will admit that. But I have full faith that with a bit of patience things will come good in the end. Perhaps actually talking to the people involved makes it easier to remember that they are just that: people. And they try their best, but they're human and thus flawed, and sometimes they mess up just like the rest of us. At times we could all benefit from some epistemic humility.

YES. just normal people like us believe it or not. more than a few times the answers we get is "i have no idea whats going on' send me a repro package" and within a few hours they come back with solutions, fixes, advixes and all that. and bear in mind we are working on one project, they have a whole sim to take care of.

February 26, 20215 yr I am enjoying the sim tremendously, I am a big fan, I can see in the sim that people working on this are passionate about it. Give us updates, when they are ready! The one thing I do not get: Why isn't the sim tested before an update is released in a sense that: Pick and aircraft, fly from A to B. The recent 'terrain spikes' and 'flap' issue would have been detected within 2 minutes of flying. Most of the update bugs are obvious and easy to spot, yet they happen... But I am not in their shoes, it still baffles me.... Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

The value proposition isn't really part of the discussion (though I paid less for XP11 and FSX combined than the cost of the MSFS Premium Deluxe), Microsoft created sold MSFS as a "game as a service" deal with these updates included , and that's what we all paid for. The idea that we are getting these updated out of the kindness of MS's heart doesn't really ring true to me.

Worth bearing in mind that the distribution of FSX in 2006, was mainly on actual physical media when it came out, in bricks and mortar stores. The distribution of MSFS has required none of that delivery or production expense. Alan Bradbury Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here
February 28, 20215 yr The latest MSFS is cheapest of all going back to FS3 (a DOS game). FS3 was $55, FS5 was $60. The last one 2020 was $59 inflated dollars. A computer system, monitor, printer, all cheaper now than 1990 for sure (allowing for inflation). 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. Crystal Light VR.

They want to make it as good as we all want. Its just a huge task. From what i can gather, its actually Microsoft thats making our life harder, but obviously, they also have their reasons. Anyway i agree, we get amazing content for FREE every 2 months, we get constant dev update about what they are trying to do, but still, some people feel like they are entitled to much more. All this we never had in any other legacy sims (except maybe XP11). Then you could ask them when finally the De Luxe aircraft will work as they should. Half a year has gone by and people payed extra for them. And when many of the handcrafted airports get their bumpy runways fixed. And when Simconnect will be having all promised features . I don’t care about new scenery at this moment ; tell them to fix the base first. I agree to a certain extent, but they also have to put up with MS assigning them tasks (like the extra content), they cant dedicate all ressources to just fix things unfortuantely.

Imho they should just do that . First make a solid base with everything working and then start adding extra scenery / ac .... You cannot add a waypoint in the 747 CDU. VNAV is not working correctly in the De Luxe airliners. After half a year it seems to me that they either have to start making the systems of these ac from scratch again , or they do not know how to fix this with the stare these ac are now. Surely I do understand that the scenery needs to be at high level with the XBox version release on its way. Most XBox players will not care much about ac where they need to learn a lot before flying correctly. They take off and fly around to see the beautiful environment. And then they land or stop the game, Simply : 🛫 🏝️🏰🌎 🛬 Like the Volkswagen ID3 is the MSFS amongst the cars...
