March 2, 20215 yr In other words, the question on update issues and an open beta branch which I already prepared doesn't fall into that pattern and I can trash it. I'm excited. I'm not participating in that live hurlyburly. Last estimates we had from months ago was "Update 9" (which I think now is Sim Update 3) and "early 2021". I hope they will say something about it, because I think that moving forward it's the only way that we can have a stable version free from outstanding issues. They have a surprise announcement but it will come with a trailer, so that's probably not it.
March 2, 20215 yr I wanted to question this "guided questions" style, but I am afraid this is against the holy code of conduct as these topics are given by gods (= mods) and I'll get blacklisted for doing so, thus I refrained from it. March 2, 20215 yr How convenient restricting questions to things they already have pre-made answers! Let try some: Avionics? They'll talk again how it is important for them to not step on the toes of 3rd parties, yet, they want to do a more complete Garmin... Flight Planning for Approaches? Navblue charts are around the corner anytime soon, maybe with WU4 France (Navblue is French?) Input/Controls + Accessiblity? Sim Update 4 will solve the 10 deg bug (documented at least since 2004 in the avsim forums - search my posts at fs2020 forums for links) Flight Model? We're listening and have fixed the flaps bug, round of applause? Any other question? I'd like to talk about LOD problems, lighting, VR world scale, Overexposure in VR (metering system), ForceFeedback, <add any other bug you keep reporting and is never addressed>? Is this OK? Sure, LOD problems? what LOD problems? For the rest it wasn't planned ahead, file a Zendesk! Now for other things, did you notice the hidden Dash 8 in Quantas Link livery in FS2020? WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.13.17.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\Packages\fs-base-ui\html_ui\Textures\PlaceHolder\Market\Plane03_Large.png They've definitely spent time modeling it at least to take the screenshot. Maybe World Update 5 will be Oceania with 1 new aircraft? NB: was there already since 1.7.12.0, use IOBit Unlocker to open sesame without corrupting your WindowsApps folder. They said in an older Q&A that they changed their mind regarding the Garmin panels because including more complete versions with the simulator would actually help developers, since they could just use the stock ones. Still, they've got to bring them up to the same level as Flight Simulator X at least, it's not as if they don't need work. 6 minutes ago, RXP said: Sim Update 4 will solve the 10 deg bug World Update 4.

Also, the Asobo devs do read Twitch chat so they may get the hint that we want and Open Beta branch if enough people bring it up in Twitch Chat. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

Related to the sdk for offline AI traffic (trying to get them to get in contact with AIG). I posted it and then saw the rules so now I know my question will be deleted/ignored David

I believe the answer will be interesting for the following reasons: - Last Q&A they had no clue what is the nature of the force feedback feature simmers are looking for when talking about this, Martial was saying it is implemented though. - The API they are using because they are shipping for XBox is XInput and MSFT has butchered down ForceFeedback in this API to only keep XBox controller rumble... - Either they decide to implement DirectInput in order to support FF and show it is a simulator for simmers because they'll use technologies specific to simmers needs on PC (and PC only), or they stick to XInput and this will show the main target is XBox console, for which I have no doubt the central purpose of FS2020 is the Market Place, not the simmers. Maybe far fetched a reasoning, but sometimes you can't help wondering whether the whole purpose of releasing FS2020 in the state it was, and the whole purpose of the FS2020 forums since then, is not to do massive beta testing for the Xbox release next summer... PS: I shall add the FSX area force feedback parameters are still there in the default aircraft configuration files, they just removed the FSX code handling DirectInput (most likely) because it is not an XBox tech. March 2, 20215 yr I hope that more people will vote for the "planning an arrival to an airport". The big issue is that you have a complete navblue nav database in the sim, but the sim doesnt have the logic to use it properly. You get USR waypoints all over the place, and published waypoints are deleted/hidden from the flightplan when you program STARS (sometimes they work, but usually not on more complex STARS, or STARS that have certain angles to them relative to the runway). Its so frustrating because they are SO close to making the base sim perfect in this regard, but they fall flat meters from the goal line making it not usable in many situations, especially on vatsim. I only fly the WT CJ4 on vatsim these days since it has its own custom nav logic that fixes the default mess. March 2, 20215 yr @Andreas Stangenes Although I'd much prefer you solve all these problems using a Reality XP GTN or GNS V2 in FS2020... I've voted because I'd very much like to know how far "simulator for simmers" go...
