Asobo puts a sign on the door "Closed for a week" and all the team plays the sim for 7 days, 8 hours a day. Play,  play, play. No coding. Within a month after the week ends, the sim is as it should be  😄 ! The more they tweak the sim innards, the further they get from the simming experience. They have to get back to the basics.

My two penny thought (not worthh more actually) after a perfect flight with the Cub in South Oregon 😉.

 

It’s not a bad idea.... Stop for a second and smell the jet fuel Asobo. But it won’t happen of course, time is money and they’ve got deadlines to meet. I feel that’s their priority right now hitting the targets they’ve promised not to us but to Microsoft.

 

I am afraid that their priority is indeed DX12zilla 😱

According to the Q&A DX12 is supposed to still give you 5 fps... but more beautiful 5 fps 😂

More seriously, there are optimizations opportunities with DX12 and I'm 100% certain Asobo is well aware of this kind of low level stuff:

MSFS 2020 sunk in to oblivion for me last night and a full reinstall later I'm still stuck on Checking For Updates.

Staring down the barrel of a full reinstall of Windows and MSFS 2020. . .

Nothing like a free lunch. So let me rephrase that : do not give me anything whatsoever if it means repetitive VRAM OOM à la P3D5 😇. 

Back to the basics is a good idea.

For instance when you fire up the sim and arrive on the World Map, it is bugged as hell. Frankly I never saw the main menu of a AAA title with such a poor quality. It is literally a bug nest.

- You can't create a waypoint on the map too close to an already existing leg

- you can't import a flight plan from simbrief and start cold and dark or edit the sids/stars...

These are the first steps before getting into any airplane. Contrails were not the priority if you ask me.
