Planet 9? Or Black Hole?

Featured Replies

As you may or may not know, there are hints of a source of gravity beyond Pluto. It's speculated that it could be planet 9. Trouble is, it would have to be huge and nobody has a clue how such an enormous planet could form so far from the sun.

Well, some astronomers are suggesting that it could actually be a primordial black hole left over from the Big Bang!

There is a perfectly acceptable reason why a large planet could be so far away from the Sun. It could have formed closer to the Sun, and then been gravitationally accelerated out of the main planetary system by a close encounter with one of the other giant planets (probably Jupiter). The perihelion would still have been located close to the other planets, but this could have been subsequently raised considerably by the close passage of a star. This would have been well beyond the orbits of the other eight planets, but it could have been enough to raise the aphelion of Planet 9 to a location well beyond Neptune.

Maybe it's left over from Ed Woods' Plan 9 from Outer Space?

That's easy to explain, it was clearly a flat pack planet - probably from Ikea - which could be easily transported to a wide orbital location, in the back of a reasonably large four door family car, if you fold the back seat down.

For the young earth creationists out there, there is some evidence of this. If you check Zephaniah 3:9, it mentions they used a Honda: 'That they all may call on the name of the Lord, to serve Him with one Accord.'

The article says that Planet 9 would be 10 times the mass of the Earth. If it were, in fact, a black hole with 10 times the mass of the Earth, it would have a radius of about 10cm so I imagine our only chance of confirming its existence would be by detecting any X-ray emissions.

I still think this is clearly the work of Bella Lugosi.

So, I am driving the same car as the Lord. And to think I almost bought a Toyota.

Nope, The Lord drives a 1958 Plymouth. It mentions this in the Bible too: 'And the Lord drove Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, in a Fury'

Is that with the 318 cu in or the 350 cu in engine?

I guess this was because Eve picked an Apple instead of a Samsung?

That's the thing about gravity.
What started off as a thread about one thing, went in a completely different direction after a few posts exerted some force on its general direction...

Chock can you name the only State in the U.S. that is mentioned in the Bible?

Hint: it is in Genesis 8:13

I suspect you need a specific translation for that one to work, but I think that's the one concerning Noah looking at his boat where he 'turned to the ark and saw the ground was dry'.

Yep. You nailed it:

Noah then removed the covering from the ark and saw that the surface of the ground was dry. By the twenty-seventh day of the second month the earth was completely dry.

I've only found that precise sequence in the Berean Study and New International versions.
