Featured Replies

Can anyone explane this. I have been flying every day since that update and now I have to update again. Will the new one follow? Exiting times.

Don't start the update by starting the MSFS

When you start MSFS and it tells you there is an update..do you want to download? Exit out of MSFS

Start your MS Store If you bought it in MS Store (I don't know about Steam) and click on the 3 dots at the upper right and check for updates or MSFS and download that first.

Then start MSFS and it would ask you if you want to download updates, say yes and download this and it would update

Then then check your MSFS store front to update the FREE stuff (France, NL)

This is the 3rd or 4th time now that MS seems to have installed this update on my system.

Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

Ok- so how do you apply this update correctly?

Perhaps that should be WT’s first plunge unto the breach... proper, intelligent one click updates...

Had the same issue go to the store app and choose only the function of download and update 😉 then start MSFS

Here is how I do it:

Click 1: Start MSFS app. Get the message that an update is Mandatory.

Click 2: Click the OK button. MSFS automatically closes, the MS Store app automatically opens and starts the Store download. When this is completed the Play button is displayed.

Click 3: Press the Play button. MSFS starts and the screen with the Browse and Update buttons is displayed.

Click 4: Press the Update button. The large download then starts. 31 minutes later, the download of the 22Gb is complete and the Continue button is displayed.

Click 5: Press the Continue button and MSFS is updated.

Certainly isn't just one click but I don't find having to do 5 clicks too onerous. This is the way I've done it since the first update was released.

I don't empty my Community folder and have never had any problems with it.

May all your landings be safe ones!

Ta Hugh... a similar experience at my end thank God! The process isn’t apparently as smooth for others. It would be lovely to have this sorted... the XBox crowd won’t put up with all the faffing around. If they’re coming, we ought to see SOME benefit 😉
