Correct! Live weather only works after loading first flight. If I want to fly another. I have to exit MSFS restart PC and start MSFS again

What if your default profile when first loading is something like broken clouds? Does live weather still default back to clear skies with no wind ?

I will try this one in the Piper, great stuff. Also: in progress the developer states, so our feedback will improve the GTN750.  I used to use RXP GTN750 in Prepar3D.  Used a second monitor with touchscreen, but nowadays I only fly VR, so will use it "in my G2". Looking forward to it!

If I enter the second flight with preset weather and clear skies and set Live Weather in cockpit, I get Live Weather but default wind, so that isn't an option that work for me, I have to restart the game to get it to work properly.

I noticed there were new sounds for the rudder. Does that mean that the loud banging/cracking noise has gone when reaching the travel limits? I found it to be incredibly harsh. I would be inclined to say unrealistic, but haven’t flown the real thing, so can’t say with any degree of confidence. I’m away from my PC for a few days, so haven’t got to check the update firsthand.

Are you using some sort of tool to know what the winds are after you load into your flight? Don't use ATIS because it's more often incorrect as far as the wind.

Ok, and do you find that you actually need to reboot your entire PC for LW to function again...or does rebooting the game suffice? Some folks seemingly need to reboot their entire pc and to me this says that perhaps some sort of network issue is being caused by the game.

Had the same problem as you. The way I got around this was doing this.

Essentially. Make sure "Live Players" is off. The rest doesn't matter

Start your first flight using the Clear Skies setting from the CUSTOM drop down menu.. Load your flight and once it loads return to the main menu.

Now clear skies is your default weather setting always. LEAVE IT AT THAT. Never change it

Once a flight loads now use the weather icon and choose the live weather drop down..  Wait 5-10  seconds and the weather loads

As long as you keep the default clear skies setting and only load live weather AFTER the flight starts it works every time.

That's a question you can pose to all the other experienced and long standing developer's in our community who continue to offer their products with ongoing development & support, yet without need for a subscription based model. in fact you can also send inquiries to all the X-plane 3rd party devs, since that sim has been in a never ending state of alpha/beta for well over 20 years now and nobody in that camp seems to ask anyone to subscribe to their products either. They offer upgrades at  a reduced cost, when warranted for times when the sim demands any serious rewrites.

And this is a single developer with a single product that I'm guessing need to pay for itself over the long term.

Without knowing the economics of this specific product, I'm not in the position to criticize the decision they've taken especially without know the actual detail of what it will cost.

I guess if you feel differently you'll have to wait for an alternative to come along.
