So the 750 mod folks are going to charge a subscription fee to give users the ability to save and load flightplans? Seems to me that saving & loading flight plans isn't worth a monthly or annual fee, hmm. Is it at least on par as good at direct-to approaches as the gns550 mod is now?

Nothing on he cost of the subscription fee that I can find. Going to leave it alone until they state what the cost is.

Nope, nada...I sent off an email to ask. I wont do a subscription for this. If it all works great then I'd certainly buy it for a 1x price...but there's nothing here that should require ongoing changes which deserves a subscription model (such as with Navigraph which is always changing).

I agree, a one time charge would be reasonable, but the subscription fee could be anything, and could be pretty costly in the long run.

Is there a website where i can find thr details of their 750?

Well...got a response about the pricing. It has not yet been decided and they could only say that the subscription would be the approximate cost of a family outing at McDonalds.

Next question...how large of a family?

Cause you know... there's the living in a tiny apartment in Manhatten "family", and then there's the Waltons 😁

Can you adjust the range with the mouse wheel?

Bert

I couldnt do much of anything really (only base pack installed, not premium)...first big thing that made me go right back to the 530 is the fact that theres no direct-to or the approach fix they've applied to their 550/530 yet so its not very useful...unless im just missing something...but the knobs around the bezel are not yet functioning for me.

Maybe it only works for those who sign up for a premium license? I wouldnt know.

Hiya Bert.. Hope all is well..

That's a big negative.. Only way to adjust range is clicking the in and out icons on the display

I'd imagine it'll be a once-off purchase and it'll include more than just the ability to save and load flight plans e.g. terrain, weather radar, metar, etc.

It's being made by the same guy who gave us the great free GNS530 mod so that kind of functionality should be at least on a par.

I'll definitely be purchasing the GTN 750 - if nothing else just to say thanks for the 530 mod.

Exactly! I aint paying £20 a month!

Now if the response had been what you would approximately spend at Mcdonalds on the annoying older nephew - then I would have been down with 89p

Has anyone but me notice that when you set the altimeter at the field elevation the Kolsman window always read 29.92, which in real life is a major problem It should read what atis tells you the pressure is at the field.

I tried the gns 750 in another plane. I think I had a significant FPS hit. I didn’t test it very much however.
Has anyone  else noticed this or can confirm this? My observation was not scientific.

It may be problem with live weather. My altimeter sets to current setting ATIS setting ( I use "B" key)

Worthing noting that after each flight I have to reboot PC; otherwise, live weather become clear skies forever and  altimeter is always 29.92
