This does look interesting. I would like to know how it works if you already have Orbx night lighting though? I don't think (unless I am unaware) there is a way to shut off Orbx night lighting if one were to use this product?

Good question. The Simmarket description mentions "designed to fit with ORBX terrain".

On the German freeware site www.simmershome.de there is a FTX Global Light Switcher available, which should do the job. It's in the filebase, but you need to be registered user to download.

I think the difference with this is that it uses the scenery library rather than autogen which means it will extend into the distance.

I bought it and will provide an update. Reviews seem positive.

Just tried it out. Fantastic add-on for P3D. Everything works exceptionally well and is very polished. Improves the entire world at night without costing a stupid amount of $.

Can recommend highly.

I don't quite understand what this does. It adds lights to autogen and roads?

But doesn't ORBX night lighting and ORBX Vector basically provide something similar? What would this add if I already have ORBX Base and Vector installed?

Do you have Orbx and their 3D night lights? I'm wondering how they work together as I can't figure out how to shut off the Orbx 3D lights. The program the guy mentioned above is no longer on that website. With both Orbx's 3D lights and this one, it will look way over done.

You can turn off the ORBX lights by looking in your ORBX region folders for files that contain the word 'OBG' (e.g. !FTX_AUv2_PR_LM_qmid7_8844_OBG.BGL) and renaming the .bgl part of the file to .off. Might want to do this as a batch command to make it faster.

I  just want the 3D lights off while leaving the 2D night texture files alone. Are the global 3D lights named in a way to allow them to be easily found?

Yes - the method I posted will leave the photo scenery intact.

Just looked at the pics but I find the  ...... packages ( from the one who is not allowed to be mentioned) much more realistic ....

absolutly. Even i don't like the guy we are not allowed to mention because of his attitude but the product is great, nevertheless that it has quite some impact on fps...

I bought the one mentioned above and have to say that it is better than the ORBX ones but still miles away from the forbidden.. So nothing i will keep installed..

With all options checked it really shows down the loading time of P3D.
