Enhanced Airport Graphics

Featured Replies

I just purchased this at the Market place after reading about it on the MSFS Facebook page. Really makes the airports look real.

If it's the same, it's been around since Jan. 1st., 2021:

It's very good indeed.

Bought it a month ago. And immediately uninstalled it.  It makes airports look worse. The textures are low quality and a step back in everyway from default. Waste of my money. Once you see this unsightly mess on the apron you can not un-see it. The apron and taxiways are an ugly patchwork of textures, color, and repeating patterns.

Example

Default KPHL - Absolutely seamless transitions between varying textures. Beautiful

Humm!  I have not tried this mod.  I see differences in coloration, but not in texture quality.  Looks like the same textures with some aging in the coloration.

Take each photo, make it full screen. Follow the right wing over to the taxiway.

Default is a seamless transition from apron to taxiway. There are light shades of rubber from the wheels on the concrete. It looks used.

EAG - The transition is absurdly abrupt. There is no signs of use, and it really shows the low quality of the textures a little further out as you can see visible noise and pixilation on the taxiways and runway. It's bad.. Just bad

I bought it at release but had problems with some freeware airports, and I didn't like the strong red/black blocks at runway entry etc.

I have it uninstalled at the moment and use some of the freeware solutions over at flightsim.to for the lines etc., as they look more worn and faded.

The one thing I didn't like about the default runways, many of them, is that they look like they were constructed  yesterday. Very pristine looking. The couple of airports I have tried this morning, look to me, more like the real thing. Will have to fly it awhile to truly judge how well it works.

Would you point to the solutions at .to?  I scouted around there for a while but likely failed to look in the correct category.
Thanks.

I love this addon. It is meant to be seen from ground level, not from the skies.

And the runways are much more realistic with more tire marks than the default Mario Cart runways.

I have never seen runways and markings as pristine as they are in default MSFS in real life.

Agreed, they are a total immersion breaker, imagine them in Amazonia or in Cameroon :))

Sir this is a flight simulator, not a ground service simulator

This is also not an “I only fly circles over an airport and look down” simulator 🥳

Sure Frank!  Flightsim.to has gotten really big over the months so it can be difficult to find stuff there now, and I notice the search function also lets some items slip through the net, so I looked in my community folder.

These two are pretty good for a start, and you just drag and drop them into your community folder, or addon folder if you use one of the add-on selector programs.  If you have any problems, give me a shout!

It's a world simulator. I need to be able to break out of Houdini like chains underwater, jump in a car, drive to a casino near an airport while soaking wet to try to gamble enough money to be able to afford whatever MSFS plane I want to rent... So I guess I'll stop off at a casino in Laughlin-NV, so I can then realize i wasted all my money because density altitude exceeds the performance of the plane during a hot 128 degree summer day in Nevada. But I didn't check density altitude, instead I aborted the take-off too late and ended up ditching the plane (not total crash). Now I have to jump in a Taxi to go grab that $100 hamburger.

Once I can do all that, then I'll consider it a real simulator.
