The survey perhaps needed either a better formed question, or an additional question.  In so far as I am happy/unhappy with MSFS in general, I am satisfied that I purchased the version that I purchased.  As Chock stated however, that does mean I am happy with the MSFS product.  Not at this stage of its development.  And not with the content and pace of progress to date.  I feel I bought in to a trial.  And if this were a subscription product I'd have cancelled quite some time ago.

I did not aimed to find out about the software related happinies. Just about the stores and different editions of MSFS.

I answered No, I bought Standard but wish I plumped for Premium thinking Id be able to Upgrade at a lower cost later on....but no you have to buy it at Full Price #Facepalm hopefully a sale comes a long one day.

Huh? The premium deluxe upgrade in the marketplace is cheaper than buying it full price.

it’s still over $100 though.

Ah yeah what i meant is the discount on upgrading isn't the difference in cost from standard to premium, or wasn't when i last looked anyway.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

I played the Game Pass Standard version for a couple hours and then went and bought the premium almost right away.  I used the MS store only because I had some extra money there and I regularly purchase stuff from them (nothing wrong with Steam either).

For me the sim has certainly had growing pains, but the moment I flew VFR around my home area - I was sold.  The performance was really good on my older PC and the visuals were amazing.  I've been simming a long time and we've had good landclass and textures that could make suburbs look different from rural, but never to be able to actually identify things easily from the sky.

At least for me in Canada it was like $30-40 cheaper to go from Standard to premium than to buy the premium alone.

I already have it purchased so I can’t actually see what the prices are exactly it just shows up as owned.

Oh right, purchase history.

I was wrong. It was more expensive to buy standard and then upgrade

Standard was $79.99, upgrade was $109.99

Premium by itself is $159.99

All Canadian prices.

Well, I must be one of those few who bought the boxed premium deluxe...

I would say that I'm mostly satisfied with my Premium purchase (rather than happy) - just for the steam gauge C172 alone.  I could certainly do without the convoluted update process and continuing issues for what should be basic expectations for a realistic flight sim.

As frustrating as things have been on a few issues, I've greatly enjoyed the immersion and have experienced few issues with my older system.

My personal take on the deluxe/premium aircraft.  Overall I use maybe a third of the aircraft regularly so I feel I got value for money from the Premium/Deluxe pack.

Deluxe
Beechcraft Baron G58    - Seems OK, though now I have the Mooney only really fly it in online streams that ask you take a twin
Cessna 152 Aerobat    - good well modelled aircraft but I personally gravitate more to the stock 152
Cessna 172 Skyhawk  - fantastic, worth the cost of the deluxe pack by itself
Diamond DA40 TDI    - seems fine but rarely use it
Diamond DV20    - seems fine but rarely use it

Premium
Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner - never flown it, not even once
Cessna Citation Longitude  - good aircraft, less work than the CJ4 to fly
Cirrus SR22 - it's a Cirrus what can you say
Pipistrel Virus SW121   - one of the most under-rated aircraft in the game, great performance and fantastic views from the cockpit
Zlin Shock Ultra  - seems fine but rarely use it

Bought the premium edition on Steam.  Lots of planes to choose from.  More than happy with the sim when it works as it should and isn't crashing.

Kind regards,

Tim
