June 6, 20214 yr I think it's stored in the cloud, I haven't found it, but if someone did, I would be grateful to find out where I can find it, because the cloud has corrupted some controller settings for me several times when the download have end up in an endless loop that I had to cancel to move on. This happened to me once early on when I began shutting down MSFS via Alt-F4. Since I stopped that haven't lost the controller config yet. June 6, 20214 yr Normally you dont have to backup these files. Even after deleting the sim and new install the sim the profiles are there. Whether it is useful to know where these files are, I can't say yet, because I don't fiddle with them as long as I don't have problems with the sim. The joystick, mouse and keyboard profiles are also stored on your own PC! C:\Users\XXXXX\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_XXXXXXXX\SystemAppData\wgs\000901F6F07699CD_00000000000000000000000069F80140 The X's are individual names, the long name of the folder at the end also depends on the PC. This folder contains the profiles. The files consisting of numbers and letters (without file extension) can be opened with an editor, preferably an xml editor (Notepad++). Simply copying the files back will not work, because the sim links its files with the current version number and thus ensures that no outdated files cause problems. But if you copy the contents, it accepts that (I found that out once with the camera.cfgs and tried it out). Under <FriendlyName> you can see the profile name. Wolfgang
June 6, 20214 yr Its in the cloud, which makes it convenient for multiple installs i.e. home desktop and travel laptop. Sure would be nice to export/import though.

I wish they would add a way to reset your cloud data too. Sometimes one just wants to start with fresh settings to eliminate any potential issue. It's a nice feature that after reinstalling or moving to a new computer one doesn't have to redo all the controller settings, but what if that was your reason for reinstalling in the first place?
