June 26, 20214 yr Hey, no one is talking about this!!! 😉 So just a heads up! It's on their website for $20 US. Here is a thread where we talk about it in the MSFS forum. I really think you guys should take a look, it's a pretty awesome release - I was really pleasantly surprised after not really being a big fan of their Aerolite 103. Yakovlev Yak-18T (MSFS) - Nemeth Designs New Release: Yakovlev Yak-18T by Nemeth Designs - Third Party Addon Discussion / Aircraft - Microsoft Flight Simulator Forums Edited June 26, 20214 yr by BostonJeremy77
June 26, 20214 yr I might get it wish it did have a GPS/autopilot. I've read that some people are glad it doesn't have a GPS.

June 26, 20214 yr Author Eh... I like GPS as much as the next guy, but something about an old Russian aircraft flying with Garmins seems VERY wrong to me. Maybe it's because I am Russian and grew up in the old Soviet Union in the 80s... Even the airliners then didn't have GPS. Those really came with the new Tupolev tubes, but the old 134, 154, 144?? No. Not in a million years. And it somehow would feel wicked strange to have one modeled with Garmins.Â

But that's only if you want something different. Keep in mind that I am a bit biased too; the 18T has always been one of my favourite aeroplanes and I'm a big fan of Russkie aeroplanes anyway. Of those, the Yak 18T is special in being a good-looking aeroplane with similarly pleasant handling characteristics. It can also take a lot of Gs, which makes it fun to throw around; essentially it's a bit like a passenger cabin version of all those dinky little Yak 55s and 52s etc, even having the same engine, although not of course the same power to weight ratio, so you're not going to be winning the world aerobatic championships with one. The real things are built like tanks, which inspires confidence, and the M14P engine found on most of them is pretty much bulletproof. It's still in production as well, albeit in a modernised form with some redesigned tailfeathers to make it look a bit more contemporary, and they're pretty cheap in real life too; you can get a fully-refurbished one for about 80K. But if you are considering getting it, keep in mind it is not a rocket-ship, it's a solid touring aeroplane/trainer with a decent passenger capacity and the novelty of being aerobatically capable. I do like that little aerolite thing they made now they fixed it a bit and got rid of the imaginary RG that made it sink into the ground (it still has some minor glitches but all cosmetic now) be interested to see what people think of this one. That sounds quite similar to the P.149 (apart from the affordable IRL bit) ?

Neither are likely to be common in the US.   Edited June 26, 20214 yr by Glenn Fitzpatrick
June 26, 20214 yr Looks great... wish somebody would produce a Yak-52 though....something that is fairly common in our local skies. Maybe another project for Nemeth?
June 27, 20214 yr Eagerly awaiting your review @Chock. 🙂 *Edit: no worries, bought it anyway. 😂 Edited June 27, 20214 yr by lupedelupe
