EA appears to have done that. It completely saturates my 1070.

As you already have HT enabled try this...

Once P3D is running open Task Manager, Performance tab and you should have cores 0 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 16 18 20 22 24 26 28 30 active with the others just ticking along.

Crucially, is core0 still at 100%? If so, reduce your scenery complexity.

I have a evga 3090 ftw3 (got it at rrp!!!! From Scan) and i have 32gb  ram @ 3600 with docp enabled 

Will also give it a try with my 5950X but i already started a flight without AM and HT on. 

I can confirm that frames are way worse then before. With 5.1 I could easy achieve solid 22 - 25 FPS out of EGLL with FSL A320 and very demanding settings, now it`s a stutter fest with 11 - 15 FPS again reminds me of 4.5.

Not even over the channel heading towards france i´m able to have solid 30 FPS with fps locked to 30 in SIM 😞

If you want to change the AffinityMask while P3D is running, you should be able to adjust Core affinity via Task Manager.

If you are using 5950x 16 core 32 thread cpu, I suggest turning SMT/HT off and no AM. 
With SMT/HT off there is no need for AM. See how you go. Try to keep as many programs off of core 0 as possible, whether that be with Sim starter or Process Lasso.

In process lasso just right click on which ever program and adjust cpu affinity there. You can multi select program as well which is handy. Just look out for programs that have X in the cpu affinity column. They need to be left alone. I’ll try to post a screenshot later, watching the footy atm 😎

tried to change affinty on the fly via task manger 🙂 But windows is reverting the settings automaticaly

Also tried with HT Off yesterday evening, but the performance is nearly the same as with HT on 😞  With 5.1 there was a significant difference between HT On and Off this is why i played with HT off usualy.

Hi All!

To be honest i do not think it is a AM settings issue, it should be working great without HT and AM..

After having  installed V5.2 the way it should be installed and deleting shaders and the .cfg  i had very bad performance.

I never used any .cfg tweaks ets and was always able to run 50 -60 fps with 3 screens, orbx scenery etc , no vc though .

It drove me crazy , i could not run more than 25fps on a 10900k 5.1 ghz,rtx3070.

 

After reinstalling the client and deleting shaders and.fcg again started up and manually changed all the settings again(not using old presets) it works very very well.

The solution is in one of the three things above:

1. reinstall client

2. deleting shaders and.cfg , some say you need to delete the HLSL shaders as well, i did not do that.

3. manually!!!!!!! configure your p3dv5.2 , do not use old presets.

That worked for me

Did all of the above incuding the deletetion of the hlsl  folder.

still about 15-20 fps less.

Have you entered the AM setting in prepar3d.cfg?

This is what I have flying the Xtreme Prototypes Lear 25 from KSFO to KLAX. Core 0 nowhere near max with the other cores taking up the slack.

I have 32 times 100 % from egll to leal with fsl a320 , true earth gb.

with ht off the same

Pay attention to your temps as HT on results in higher temps. My 14 core 7940X cannot handle HT very well because of that. The difference with HT off is almost 15 degrees Celsius and to prevent that I need to lower my OC my 0.4 Ghz..

CPU is currently 52-70C and GPU 66C.
