I believe that X-Plane will be alive and doing well for a long time to come

Buy would I still be alive when XP12 eventually comes, that's the only thing I'm interested in 😀

I've cleaned up some of the comments (the usual fighting). Please keep this discussion on-topic, although I'm not sure what more is there to say, x-plane.org is back up and running

As far as I'm concerned, I am really looking fwd for X-Plane 12, and I am sure all - ALL - around here are too 🙂 - it is one of the easiest to uninstall !!!! 🤓 MFS leaves a lot of stuff behind, what a mess...

Exactly that 'portability' -if you will- is one of the reasons I like XP so much. It's easy to create a new install or have stable and beta branches running alongside eachother, move plugins in and out of the way. I also like the ease of customization like adding ortho scenery, for instance. But yeah, I started with XP on macOS and Linux which limits the choice. I gave in since planes I like to fly only support Windows (or macOS, which doesn't run (easy) on the PC I bought for simming).

I believe so too and XP12 will be an instant buy for me, if only to support development. What @mSparks says about customer and developer engagement makes sense though, if only to stand up to the competition which can't really be ignored. I must say that when reporting bugs to LR, I always received a swift response. Too bad there are a few long outstanding bugs that apparently won't be fixed for XP11.

We'll see how everything develops, but as I said I'll buy XP12 instantly (unless there'd be an insane price tag) and limit myself to XP and P3D as I agreed with myself to only have a maximum of 2 simulators so at least this issue won't affect my sanity 😛

Unless you have received a horrendous diagnosis lately, I'm optimistic 🙃

This thread is important, nonetheless, because it exposes "emotions", and these translate very well to the state of mind about pretty much everything, for the good and for the bad...

4K+ views and we have the usual armchair pilots and the wannabe sim CEOs dominating the thread. They go from post to post bickering about X VS M. It's a broken record, so NO the thread is not important!

11 pages discussing xplane.com vs xplane.org and all you read was the 4 or 5 posts that mention msfs in passing?

I suppose if all you came here for was msfs discussion that would be disappointing.

However x-plane.com vs x-plane.org is a pretty important issue, and trying to pretend it is about anything else just because there are a couple of decent explanations why X-plane.com shouldnt try to replicate anything Microsoft has done in the last 20 years wont change that.

X-plane is and always was built on mac for a start - while looking into whats been going on on x-plane.com for example I found using a computer that actually works for development is posited as Laminars secret sauce to surviving for so long when so many others truly have failed.

You do not get it do you? lol....

I occasionally come here to see what new and interesting but instead there is 11 pages of you useless CACA(poop) from the same people trolling and their enablers.

You should diversify your interests a little more, maybe take photography class, go for walk, etc...

Just saying...

My interests consist of

Flying helicopters, Sailing, Water and snow skiing, Wind & kite surfing, Diving, Walking (usually 5~10km a day), Playing CSGO and chatting on forums between rounds, Flying cool planes in Xplane, devving the 744 and talking on discord during the flight

Occasionally doing my best to keep out the papers during the odd international incident.

You should probably spend less time watching garbage propaganda and other brainwashing on TV, then you would have more time to engage with modern technology and real people.

X-Plane.com & Avsim is probably a good place to start; X-Pane.org - not so much.

Just saying...

Sometimes I am wrong, and have no trouble admitting it.

For example I said a fair few things wrong about Covid in early 2020 - mostly because at the time I didn't know

Was in the works.

Unfortunately a lot of the conversation around that are now state secrets, so you wont find me bringing them up much.

I don't own a TV 😉 What propaganda are you referring to?

Where do you dive at?

nowhere regular, trained UK BSAC

1000 islands off the coast of Jakarta was the most impressive, did a week dive holiday in Hugarda Egypt a few years ago was well worth it.

These days I mostly sail/surf/snorkel the Croatian islands for 2 or 3 weeks a year.

Very cool! Those two locations are on my long list of dive locations. Belize is on my short list as long as there are no BS Cov19 requirements.

All the really not important stuff people who have a TV spend their entire lives talking and arguing about.

As long as the conversation could be kept away from the relative strengths of MSFS / XP's cloud depictions, I bet you'd be a fascinating person to talk to in a pub.
