Ah, "la mano de Dios". This won't have happened today; VAR would have spotted it easily. I never saw the merit in this goal.

I don't want to discuss this further, I don't want this thread to go south...

With both Columbia and Argentina mentioned, how much further south could it go? 🤪

I was a sprightly 15 year-old when England won the World Cup. Happy memories.

England have exceeded my expectations in Euro 2020. The poorest performance  was against Scotland but they played really well against the old enemy - Germany, a team that have caused us so much grief over the years. 1970, 1990 and 1996. Nice to get one over on them.

England played 74 passes in 3m 40s against a tiring Danish team. They wouldn’t have had the nouse to do that in the past. Italy will be tough but those two central defenders must be terrified of England’s pace. England 2-1 in extra time.

A video of the foul that led to penalty. If you concentrate on the knee you can see it impacted Sterling and knocked him of balance. The other player then hip barged him.

Tricky one, but to me, if you knee a player in the bend of the leg its a penalty.

I was 26 and remember that match so well even though I am a Rugby Union guy.

One of few Soccer matches that I actually enjoyed.

Oh dear Ray. Go straight back to school. I'm 63. Your arithmetic is as bad as mine.

I knew that you knew that Ray. You didn't know that I knew but know you know that I knew so we both know.

Although players do dive for effect sometimes, it is often done simply to avoid a possible injury. When the stride is impeded by another, the player might have to quickly remove weight from the ground placed foot by going over straight away or else a leg joint could be strained.
