Not Hearing ATC

Featured Replies

All of sudden I cant here ATC but AI responds back to them? Everything is enabled as far as I can tell??

You probably need to turn up the volume knob on the radio.  It reset to zero on me once.  If not, there was another recent thread with someone having a similar problem in the Piaggio - not sure if that might help.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Same issue with the CRJ here. When initially loaded I hear myself but not the controllers until I pull the Com1 knob. Interestingly only affecting the CRJ but at least not the FBW320

Same problem yesterday for the first time, I could not hear ATC, volume was correct, my copilot was responding to messages I could not hear. the plane was LH TB21, I made a flight the day before with the PMDG DC6 everything was normal.

Same here since 2 or 3 weeks. Workaround for me is to switch to com 2 in the msfs menu and back to com 1.

It happens to me always if the previous flight was with a plane that has COM disabled when firing up in cold and dark, like the A.149 and other GA planes. If the volume knob on the plane does nothing, you can still increase the COM volume by binding a key to the function "increase COM1 volume". Like this, I never had any issues anymore, if I do not hear ATC, I simply turn on the COM stack or if not effective, I press the binded key until I can hear ATC again...

Thanks for the advice I will try and report back!

This is happening to me when changing just ATC volume in options, a sim restart fixes the issue.
