It finds subjects a LOT faster than the forums internal search function, and helps me at least try to avoid creating a duplicate topic. Another forum I'm frequenting more and more lately actually gives you a pop-up warning and guides you to the relevant post, with a prompt on if you still wish to continue, when you attempt to post a link to anything that has already been linked on that forum.
