Do we need an Xbox subforum?

It might make sense but might now since I don't know how many xbox people will come to avsim

It'll add an extra dimension to 'My sim's better than your sim' interaction. 😏

The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA

You are in BDSM ?

Simming since 1981 -  [email protected] GHz with 16 GB of RAM and a 1080 with 8 GB VRAM running a 27" @ 2560*1440 - Windows 10 - Warthog HOTAS - MFG pedals - MSFS Standard version with Steam

I agree, a separate forum would be sensible. If there isn't, you will read 100 times a day " Are you on a PC or on an X box?"

I dont see a reason for a seperate forum. It's the same game.

Totally different hardware and OS.

These fora are divided by game /sim, not by hardware or operating system.

I think new users benefit the most by joining a group that has a lot of experience.

We've got hardware and OS forums already. Maybe there's a demand for an Xbox forum alongside the Windows forums, but I don't see the need to separate MSFS users by platform. There will be a lot of "how does flying work" questions that can be answered no matter what platform, or for that matter sim, you're running.

If we shunt the Xbox guys into their own MSFS corner, they'll miss out on the long years of acquired knowledge the PC side has, and I don't think that would be particularly helpful or welcoming.

I would like a separate X Box forum because there will also be the Series X and series S divide and specific hardware issues.

Answer these then from an X box poster/

Where is the community folder?

Will my Logitech pedals work with a series S X Box?

Can I get the JF Arrow 3 for my X box...

etc...etc..etc...

Maybe best to see how it evolves and give a new generation users a change to learn from experienced members.

I would wait and see.  Not sure if we'll see a massive influx of people or not.  We're kind of into uncharted territory here.  I sort of doubt we'll see tons of people asking hardware specific questions, and we should be able to help people with basic sim questions.

An important thing to keep in mind, growing the sim community is a good thing for us.  The more active users MSFS has, the more likely MS and others dedicate more resources to it.  More options are a good thing for the community, not a bad thing.

There will be most likely an X box Facebook Group, a reddit group, and Steam group, so the number of X box people joining Avsim, will most likely be a small minority.
