Very long loading times after SU5

Featured Replies

MSFS used to load for me from an SSD in about 2.5 minutes. It is still loadingnow after update, and it is almost 8 minutes, and still hasn't loaded. Anyone else see this?

Same for me.  It takes about 10 restarts to help this....then you're going to have to try and get a flight going, which I cannot.  Also, the high res map doesn't seem to work and I'm not sure if there's an options to turn that on or now.  Very frustrating.

This update has turned my very good running MSFS into a POS.

Fully updated but I can't start a flight at all. Once I have everything setup and choose fly now its been loading for 15min, still nothing. I'm going to go watch TV or something and  check back in 30min. I turned off my POS norton firewall. I suppose the Azure cloud is getting nailed.

Anyone know if the FBW Neo works with this update?

I really think they broke the sim with this update. I have tried everything and can't start a flight.

Just checked on the FS Forum. Many others reporting the same exact problem. Blue progress bar moves to the right and stays there, and flight never starts. Guess I will go back to online chess.

The servers are overloaded, I made a couple of game restarts and 10 flights and it was loading faster than before the update, then at around 2:00 AM italian time it all went south.

Marketplace and content manager also stopped being accessible.

I just restarted MSFS, and clicked on my avatar in the upper right screen and it says that I am "offline". Must be the server is totally crashed. Has anyone else seen this? Normally doesn't your avatar when you click on it show the server you are on and the ms delay?

It took a long time for all the updates.

But I have now made 3 flights including one over SF departing SFO.

All in the JF Turbo Arrow.

The startup and loading as well as switching flights is very fast for me now, a big improvement.

I would guess about 10-15 fps increase and much smoother. Even over SF. I did have 2 stutters out of SFO but nothing major. Seems much smoother than before the update.

The Shift-Z menus work great and so does AirManager. The G530 mod works great as well latest version anyway.

PMDG has updated the DC6, so I will try that tomorrow.

So far I give this update an A+. Good job.

I realize this is not the case for everyone, but at least it works great for me. I did the update with an empty Community folder.

Yes, demand is off the charts. Was working earlier now it hangs up loading. I gave up for the evening.

Someone on the MS forum said they fixed this non starting a flight issue by doing a complete reinstall of msfs, I think I will wait till tomorrow and try again.

I am currently "uninstalled" waiting for the bottlenecks to go away.  I intend to do a fresh install as contrasted with a reinstall.  Ex. in the meantime I am looking for any information on how to purge without future impact some left over empty folders and clean up any other orphans and widows so to speak.  I ran a registry check with CCleaner but nothing MSFS related came up in its resulting list of issues to resolve.  I have also done some pecking around in appdata.  I recognize there are settings and logbook residing in the Cloud.  I am however focused on first purging what is local on my system.

Have you seen anything definitive written on completing a total purge before a new install?
