July 30, 20214 yr @devgrp: that's not the point, the original visuals are far better then what we have now "after" an upgrade to increase performance. For those who already had a decent performance, there was no need to increase it a visual cost. I understand that those who lacked performance are happy now which is totally understandable because you're nothing with visual if you lack performance. But it's like chickster25 says: if you buy a 200 hp car and after a service you're left with only 150, you wouldn't not be happy either. Our visuals are the hp's in the comparison. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base & hegykc MFG Crosswind modded pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S for VR

So Asobo should just cater to people with souped up machines? I really dont know why people are mad. Just uninstall msfs and install xp and p3d and save yourself the headache

Now we have scenery, performance and visuals and people still complaining because they cant see trees 20 miles out or their clouds arent as fluffy anymore lol People are complaining about SU5 because the design tradeoffs to achieve higher framerates for console gamers vs visual quality feel like a backwards step to many. These complaints are because on Sunday the game looked better than it did on Tuesday. Flight simmers are used to games whose engines were built to achieve max performance on a single thread. We're mostly happy with 30fps. Console gamers who play AAA titles expect 100fps on medium settings as a baseline. SU5 was about trying to approach that benchmark and reducing the processing load was the main way Asobo got those fps gains. You take away the wagyu beef and replace it with a chicken kiev, people are going to be unhappy. Their bellies will still be full but they'll remember what they used to have. i7-10700K; RTX 2070 Super; 16GB; P3Dv4.5HF3 & MSFS2020.

No that is the point because I cant really see any difference unless I pause the game and zoom in to look for issues.

Speak for yourself. 30fps is not what I want to fly with just to push my gpu to the limit to achieve maybe a 3% visual difference. You might be ok with flying at 30fps but not me

The original buildings exist somewhere, so why not let us decide what we want to see. Complexity in testing. The more combinations and options available the more combinations to test. More difficult to make changes when there are a myriad of combinations to not break. Some things we all have to compromise.
July 30, 20214 yr Let's hope all these worries get alleviated by the incoming and subsequent hotfixes. Asobo is playing a bit with fire this time. That said, I am confident, silly me. Iñigo Bildarratz

Most of us real simmers are actually out flying and enjoying the sim while you and others are on here complaining about clouds that are not fluffy or things you cant see for 20 miles lmao. Life is too short hombre lol

July 30, 20214 yr Author So my obeservation seem to be right, the visual quality of the ai-generated buildings have been downgraded quite a bit. Probably much more than 3% as another person has calculated in his mind. - Harry 9800x3D (Strix x870e-E) - 64GB RAM (DDR5 6000, CL 30) - RTX 5090, 34'' 1440p OLED HDR - Windows 11 Pro (1TB M.2) - MSFS 2024 (MS Store, 4TB M.2).
July 30, 20214 yr And again. What's the point of coming to a Forum and end up posting personal opinions about people? Is it a kind of ego battle? Any good for anyone? Disagree and accept diversity without feeling attacked evertime anyone shows disagreement. Iñigo Bildarratz
