MS Store---->Search Updates------>Update-------- Run MSFS. Not too much learning even needed. XD I guess it´s just a matter of "asking before trying" philosophy that happens more and more these days.

Well simple and easy store>download and updates that's it...

There should be *no* reason to delete the manual cache. And it’s bugged, so will be really painful to rebuild.

Lol 64 GB Ram local, I don't use cache and 1gb down and up internet 🙂

I just start my PC and have an auto-script built in which loads straight into Steam, a batch file then automatically loads MSFS and when at the Menu a Mouse Movement & Button click script selects the Plane and Airport and before you know it I'm at the Cockpit ready to fly from the single press of a button!

Not really, but I do remember doing something similar to this years ago, I created a separate Windows Install and at Boot selected Desktop or Gaming, the latter would load the OS then a game immediately without any fuss, was a gimmick but cool!

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

To cut a story short, i went into MS store this morning and found my MSFS already got updated to 1.18.15.0. No need to even click once...😜

Win11 Pro 64-bit, Ryzen 5800X3D, Corsair H115i, Gigabyte X570S UD, EVGA 3080Ti XC3 Ultra 12GB, 64 GB DDR4 G.Skill 3600. Monitors: LG 27GL850-B27 2560x1440 + Samsung SyncMaster 2443 1920x1200, HOTAS: Warthog with Virpil WarBRD base & hegykc MFG Crosswind modded pedals, TrackIR4, Rift-S for VR

16 GB RAM and about 50 Mpbs, I don’t use it either as the terrain changes too often with the WU and sometimes inbetween without any notification.

.. delete your rolling and manual caches, switch off your Nvidia filters and reset  the parameters of the Usercfg.opt before passing judgment. 😉

And I when I see again some of you lost in the maze of the MS Store, I am so glad I bought it at Steam. Passing to 15 was a breeze this morning.

Curious fact Did you notice that both P3D and MFS are now at level 5 HF2 😁 ?

Interesting post. Never tried this before. I can figure out the 1st two tasks, but how and where do you reset Usercfg.opt? Regards.

2 mouse clicks with MS...Maze for 4 year old kid can be.

Most people are lost with themselves. I'm not sure they know exactly where to click and why.Lost in the maze of their brain

They don't take the time to learn .

They are just lazy and kings of easy commentary

I just used the normal procedure for an update, went to MS store, checked for updates, it loaded the update, and done. Took about 1 minute.

Are we now having a Steam v MS Store topic?🙄

MS store this morning>library>getupdate>download>done.

🙄

Yup, couldn't get any easier.

Also, empty/rename your community folder or disable addons using addon linker if used. after the hotfix I was welcomed by 2 CTDs. Have now disabled all addons, not so many here but shift-z and toolbarpushback, just kept the nohandlebar, also deleted all FBW liveries and since I fly again with the FBW latest dev mod from EDDM to ENVA. fingers crossed

WHY? Not saying you’re not correct, but can you explain why performing these rituals is important?

I simply updated the app in the MS Store and ran it. Simple.

You don’t need to reset it if you have not changed anything. Some of us have changed a couple of parameters in it, in the post processing module.

Not a ritual but more a precaution. I understand that  caches hoard data including imagery, mesh to avoid redownload etc. As SU5 is a major refactoring I find it prudent to start afresh as much ad possible short of a reinstall. Even more so before assessing whether SU5 HF2 is any better.
