Best VFR Pay/Free airports in N. Amer and Carib?

Featured Replies

Guess you could say I'm a late bloomer with MSFS.  Further, for this first time in forever, I'm enjoying vfr flying thoroughly.  Just did a quick 10 minute flight this morning from OG20 (free orbx).  Anyway, I'm curious what airports (payware/freeware) you guys recommend for more VFR enjoyment.  Targeting US, Canada, and the Caribbean.

Thanks in advance.

5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW  and 2  22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU,  360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

St. Maartin is popular, (There's an authentic payware version), St Barts and Juancho E Yrausquin are nearby with their landing challenges. See you there!

Two weeks ago I might have said go to flightsim.to and get a bunch.  There's some nice stuff there, particularly the Bahamas.  After SU5 I'm more cautious, and that includes payware because of folks getting CTDs.

I'd still say try flightsim.to.  In terms of payware, Princess Juliana is popular but I don't see it as particularly well done...but it's a nice area.  Latin VFR's TFFJ San Juan is my favorite at the moment.   There's a St. Thomas on the marketplace but when I was on final to it a yacht (yes, a boat) cut right through the runway in front of me.  I just sat there staring...and I paid for that.😧

reminds me of the NYC bridges.  I've seen cars that turn into airplanes and takeoff into the air.  If only we could do that

Some of the more obvious if you havent tried already with WUII installed is Friday Harbor (KFHR) and Stewart NY (KSWF)

Semper Fi

Aside from those mentioned here, BrovoAirspace MDSD is well done. Available at simmarket.

Did the yacht at least call the tower for clearance?

If you like remote Alaska cabins and seaplane bases, I recommend the free Return to Misty moorings scenery.
