CTDs after WU6

Featured Replies

hi!
unfortunately I still have the same problem with CTSs after SU6, which were itroduced to me after SU5 and:

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.19.8.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe

Path of the faulty module: C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\clr.dll

Before SU5 I never had ANY CTD.

I do not know what to do anymore … Tried everything a read here an elsewhere to no avail, Zendesk is no help either.

I think I will give up for now, which would be much easier if MS FS wasn´t so word not allowed smooth and nice, the few minutes I can fly.

thanks, but did that already, no help...😪

btw CTDs also occur while in safe mode...

The error you are getting is directly related to that. Maybe try an install in window safe mode. There is an issue with your Windows for sure. This is not the sim

ok, I will try, but before SU5 there was no problem with it and I did not install any major updates or anything else prior to updating to SU5 (and SU6)...

I, like the OP have been plagued by random CTD's since SU5. I am also running Win11 so troubleshooting CTD's can be a challenge at times. I went back and looked and do not have the version that you linked to, even after the Win11 upgrade. I went ahead and installed it and look forward to seeing if that does help my issues, but it will be later this afternoon before I have the time to check.

Just a remark.. you may want to change your thread title to WU6. SU6 will be released in the future, and there is already so much confusion in forums about SU vs. WU...

Hi, michap7,

I have continuous CTDs. I don’t know if my problem is similar to yours. Would you please let us know your findings?

Thank you and good luck!

yes I´ll try to! Do you have the same faulty module in the error log? clr.dll ist responsible for at least 95% of my CTDs, the rest is ntdll.dll

Hi,

I don't know.

How do you know where's the issue?

Where can I find the culprit?

Thank you.

Do you have any form of overclocking or similar going on with your PC - CPU, RAM or GPU? MSFS is rock solid for me with no overclocking but I was getting random CTDs when I had undervolted my GPU. Seems MSFS is very sensitive to these kinds of changes going by the various forums.
