I have never had to reinstall windows on any of them, unless I replaced harddrive. Why is this necessary with W10?
September 10, 20214 yr Clr.DLL is part of .NET, which is not the same thing as the VC (Visual C) runtimes. For those having this issue, do you run Windows update on a regular basis? There have been at least three updates to .NET as part of the main Windows updates over the past 6 months. Not all .NET framework problems will necessary be found using the system file checker. Microsoft has a dedicated tool to check and repair problems with the installed .NET framework. https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=30135 Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. September 10, 20214 yr My issues some months ago now, i suspect were more windows related, as it seemed no matter what i tried (and believe me i tried everything from Zendesk to complete re-install) The CTD's for me vanished straight after Windows had updates. There were a couple of Hot fixes from asobo around the same time, but i was still suffering from daily CTD's with them Maybe it's a combination of both on some folks set ups, i know how annoying it can be, so hope everyone finds a fix. Why is this necessary with W10? Now, this a good question but i reather think this has something to do with WIN10 in particular because i belive this is one off the best Systems we got over the past couple off years. It looks ( to me ) like it has more to do with things like: Is your Win10 Installation allways ( or mostly ) up to date in every Aspekt, and for example how many people are using this PC, for me to say with this PC i am using MSFS and a couple off 3D Software and mutch more nobody else as me is sitting behind this Screens and this Aspect seems quit a important argument from my point of view. So another thing is some people have more anderstanding from PC's, some less, i think you can understand what i mean, and these are all importand arguments that contribute to how it looks with the PC stability. And we all know a perfect up to date for a system off all things they are important is not that simple and easy to use and done. cheers 😉 Edited September 10, 20214 yr by pmplayer 08.2024 new PC is online : ASUS ROG STRIX X670E-F GAMING WIFI Mainboard, AMD Ryzen™ 9 7950X3D Prozessor, G.Skill DIMM 64 GB DDR5-6000 (2x 32 GB) Dual-Kit, MSI GeForce RTX 4090 VENTUS 3X E 24G OC Grafikkarte, 2x WD Black SN850X NVMe SSD 4 TB - Drive C+D, WD Gold Enterprise Class 12 TB for storage HDD, Thermaltake Toughpower GF3 1000W PC - Power supply, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 EVO CPU Aircooler with 7 Heatpipes, Design Meshify 2 White TG Clear Tint Tower-Case, 3x 4K monitors 2x32 Samsung 1x27 LG 3840x2160, Windows11 Prof. 23H2 - now Windows11 Prof. 25H2 Flightsimulator Hardware: Honeycomb Throttle Bravo, Logitech Extreme 3D Pro, Logitech Flight Joke System, XBox Controller, some Thrustmaster stuff, Winwing CDU Panels.

I then tried running the v4.8 installer but it said I was already running the latest version of .NET and quit. I keep coming back to the Event Viewer always having references to Asus Armory around the same time that MSFS CTD's, even after getting rid of all things Asus in APPS. I did find some programs for Aura LED lighting and remembered that is also from Asus. I got rid of all that and will see what happens later today. September 10, 20214 yr When I updated my motherboard to an X570 TUF Gaming a few months ago I just used my old DD4 Gskill Ram. I noticed then that some new ram was listed as Ryzen-Ready but passed on it then. I have now been reading and noticing a lot of people having stability issues with Gskill kits, which I never had before. And also reading the .clr and NTDLL errors could be caused by ram issues, I went ahead and ordered a new Corsair Vengence 32gig set that says Ryzen-Ready. I started having stability issues after the upgrade initially but seemed to cure then back then with using an old vid driver. But they started up again when starting the SU5 Beta test. I have had the issues ever since. So it really could be related. Tell us your findings, please. I reinstalled Windows and MSFS but I'm affraid of installing the software I was using before. So I have now Windows 10, MSFS and Photoshop, nothing more. Regards.

That´s the reason why I do it the other way round: First installing all the software I need, then MSFS. Maybe MSFS overwrites things changed by installing other software, that´s what I hope. Don´t know if that works. I am probably going to install MSFS next weekend, this weekend all other software. But if it doesen´t work correctly and CTDs will reappear I´ll give up with MSFS. My other software is more importatnt to me... Regards Edited September 11, 20214 yr by michap7

Yes, a new installation of Windows with little or no other software installed, other than MSFS, will make for the most stable environment for MSFS. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

If you want the most stable environment for MSFS possible, you have another PC with a fresh installation of Windows, and just put MSFS on that PC 😁 I'm not sure how many people can afford this. I guess if you are rich enough, you can afford a separate PC just for MSFS 😁 i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
