Hello friends of the dc-6. For all of you who weren't sure how to use carb heat:  RSR explain it in the forums briefly. Basically you don't need it unless there is strong reason to use them. The blue indication on the engine stress visuliser are not in indication for an severe condition.

You had written that it's needed when MP decreases. MP always decreases on climb so you need to adjust it to 40inches. According to your statement you have always use the carb heat lever in climb. RSR is saying that it's only needed while in extreme cold temperatures when icing conditions can occur, so according to his statement you wouldn't need it when MP decreases.

I am not an expert, but I always thought that the blue indication on the engine stress visualisier is something that requieres increasing the carb heat, obviously that's not the case so I can ignore it on ground (at least when I don't fly in sibiria) and only apply it on climb or cruise a bit when icing conditions might occur.

You are correct, not only are you not an expert, you seem to be clueless on how to fly the DC6 properly, how to diagnose when you are getting carb icing, so  go on thinking  the way you do... Ignorance is bliss.

You seem arrogant. I told in the beginning that I have no clue on how to fly this aircraft yet and still learning. Just because you want to show off your expertise without being able to teach properly doesn't make me an word not allowed.

And I suggested to you that you post the problem you are having on the PMDG forum, where there are some very knowledgeable people that will help you understand how the aircraft works. You chose not to do that for whatever reason.

The reason why I am not wanting to register at pmdg forums is that I don't want to reveal my real name which is a prerequist on their forums. Despite that, there are for sure knowledgeable people on the avsim forums either, who take their time to explain stuff in detail on a beginner friedly way (like @chock). Anyway. I will figure it out,  I am doing progess every day and had not one engine failure since I fly without the AFE.

I believe I know how to fly DC-6 and have been doing to months after release. There is a bug after SU6 and latest update that make DC-6 engine fail!

I have latest update, and haven't had any engine problems.

So do you have any idea what it doesn't work for me? I do everything by the book like before and engines quite. I repaid them, reload and same thing happens again

I had a problem with the DC6 a couple of weeks ago, where everything was acting strange, I reinstalled it and that fixed it.  You have to use the correct uninstall program depending on whether you have the MS Store version or Steam version of MSFS.  I got that by submitting a ticket to PMDG.

They have always had that, even when they were using Avsim for their support forums. I believe it is to cut down on pirates.

Disclaimer, I don’t own the DC6..However I did notice every time I’m in cruise and I enter clouds I do lose speed, when I come out of the cloud I start gaining my speed back (I can lose up 20 knots immediately when entering cloud)
