September 22, 20214 yr Hello all, User of Track IR and since update 6 it has appeared really choppy... altered the off screen terrain pre-caching from Low to ultra in order to try to mitigate this issue, also turned off motion blur altogether, have v-sync on limited to 30 fps and using dev mode averaging around mid high 40s flying the FBW A320. Started out with LOD of 200 starting to wind down to 160 to see if this improves matters but still getting the freezes. Has anyone else had these issues with Track IR other than that everything is great, sim looks better and in between freezes is smooth. Regards Nic
September 22, 20214 yr Make sure trackir is connected directly to a port on your machine, not via a usb hub. Fixed mine from dropping out intermittently.
September 22, 20214 yr Hope you get it sorted out, I haven't noticed any problems with mine. AMD Ryzen R9 9950X3D | Asus Astral RTX 5080 OC | 32 GB DDR5 6000 CL30 | 3440x1440 G-Sync | Logitech Pro Throttles Rudder Yoke Panels | Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS | TrackIR 5 | Oculus Rift S
September 22, 20214 yr Zero issues for me but I don’t run vsync or cap the frames. I disliked my experience at 30fps with it and that was with any sim. 45-60 seems to be the sweet spot for smooth fluid motion in looking around for me. September 22, 20214 yr TrackIR is a high current device so if you connect it to an unpowered hub together with things like a MS FFB2 which also pulls a lot of power there may be issues. It is unlikely that is the issue for the OP though as he specifically stated the problem only started with SU5/WU6 . The only issue SU5 caused me is the SU5 update was incompatible with Process Lasso which I had been using to dedicate an entire core just to TrackIR - so I now get occasional TrackIR freezes when the processor is loaded that did not occur when I was able to use Process Lasso to Sandbox TrackIR. Regards Nic How are you getting "mid high 40s" when you have "v-sync on limited to 30 fps"? I don't think the choppiness has anything to do with TIR - it's a scenery caching issue that can only be mitigated with pre-caching on ultra ( at least for me). With that said, one thing I do encounter is periodic CPU spikes to 100% across all cores/threads and a temporary spike in frame-time. I lock at 35 fps with NVCP and run a pretty consistent FT of 28.6ms...until one of the fps-killing spikes. I have tried lowering several different settings but have not found a setting that has any affect on these spikes. i7-6700k • Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 • 32GB DDR4 2666 • EVGA FTW ULTRA RTX3080 12GB

September 23, 20214 yr Author Yes it was global shipping by Henrick Version 1, which I reverted to after being unable to get the latest version to work. Did a test flight of an hour everything seemed fine will test again tomorrow to be certain. Regards Nic
