He has the best PC money can buy with a 3090 GPU, of course for him is "just no". I wonder though why he even replied on your thread since you said "do you have an aging rig like mine?"... 🙄

I replied because it’s public forum that is full of opinions. So I gave mine. Problem?

I have the I7-4770K@4,3-4,5 with a GTX1080TI FTW3 downclocked to 1836MHZ and using unlimited FPS  VSYNC on/Trippel buffering on  - with a 4K TV set at 25HZ in P3D . Used this for years and its smooth. (FSL , PMDG etc)

MSFS2020 i also just use 25HZ and somehow the in build VSYNC/60FPS combination makes it a smooth experience as well.

What are your 20FPS settings in and outside the sim ?

Thanks

People really need to stop fussing about their PCs.

Reminds of the days when I was mountainbiking in California. You'd see guys pull into the parking lot with their expensive dual suspension bikes, of course fully outfitted with the latest Shimano XTR stuff, carbon frame, and what not, spending an

inordinate amount of time making sure their front forks are dialed in "just right"...

...only to be dropped on the first climb by a geezer on a 15 year old Gary Fisher.

Ha ha.

I have a i7 8700k 16gb ram gtx 1070ti and 20fps is hard on the eyes on my pc (1080p).  I run locked at 30 with vsync on in MFS and 60 in nvidia control panel. Stutters exist but are at a minimum mostly when flying to a new location with settings on high.

@Isaiah53six How are you measuring fps?  I limited my fps to 30 in MSFS but using Window's Game Bar (Win+g), I still get fps over 30's in Win+g. Something's not right.

Hardware: i7-8700k, GTX 1070-ti, 32GB ram, NVMe/SSD drives with lots of free space.
Software: latest Windows 10 Pro, P3Dv4.5+, FSX Steam, and lots of addons (100+ mostly Orbx stuff).

I am locked at 31 via nvidea thingy (once read to go 1 over).  specs in sig, no major issues, its flyable.  I do get in the mid 20's about 20% of the time.

Make sure your graphics card is on the first pci slot nearest the cpu.

And be sure the computer is plugged into the electrical outlet that's nearest to the incoming main line.

i haven't been measuring fps lately but I have used the ingame fps developer option when the game first released last year. Steam also shows fps but I since turned off the steam overlay to get the best performance visually as possible.

Kind regards,

@Isaiah53six Bert Pieke suggested this great app that you might like too. It works like the version in P3D:
