Starting the simulation and loading screens

When starting the simulation, after checking for updates, a uniform splash screen is now displayed until the main menu loads. The overlays of the World Updates are no longer displayed.

In the simulator itself, now completely new loading screens are displayed, from modifications of aircraft, which I will publish gradually for you on Flightsim.to.

The redesigned main menu

The core of the modification, is the completely redesigned main menu. Here the display of the graphics was improved or replaced by new ones. But more important is that you can now reach all important settings directly and without detours.

These include the MS Store, the General settings, the Content Manager, the Pilot Profile, the Current Landing Challenge, the Hangar, the Logbook and the Bushtrips - everything is now just a mouse click away.

Of course, you can still use the menu navigation in the upper main menu as usual.

Even more useful changes - here they come

• semi-transparent display for the designation of parking positions, runways, gates etc. on the world map, facilitating the composition of your flights
• larger display of thumbnails for the aircraft liveries in the hanger
• in the MS-Store now 4 items instead of 3 items per line are displayed - a little less scrolling with the mouse necessary 🙂
• the toolbar at the top of the screen in the simulator is now also displayed semi-transparent, the annoying activation arrow is completely removed and the response time for showing and hiding the toolbar is significantly reduced

A bonus at the end

And last but not least there is a little bonus for you.

In the weather settings for your flights, I have added 12 new weather presets. From fair weather flights, to icy snow landscapes, to flights through thunderstorm cells, there should be something for everyone.

The weather presets are primarily suitable for VFR flight. Visually, there are still new graphics for the weather in the selection menu to match.

 

 

Thanks. Not yet sure what the benefits are. But I will try it out, as it is a simple community install.

Well if it works without issues, that's a really nice add-on. Anything which reduces the menu progression and scrolling has to be worth a try. But I'll let others be the Guinea pigs on this one!

 

Edit: One thing I'd immediately suggest is a direct link on the home screen to control options to enable faster switching of controller profiles.

Some stuff I like but when I click on marketplace items I cannot see the pics etc.  It's a nice effort but to me, at least, it's nothing game changing.

It's a real gem. With this mod we finally got rid of that annoying toolbar handle.

I suspect that's an easily fixed oversight. For myself I can just click on the blue dashs underlying the marketplace pictures to see the thumbnails.

I was actually more impressed with the transparencies on the inbuilt flight planner, so that now you don't have those big white boxes blocking your sight when you're trying to choose a parking spot.

That appears to have been fixed in the current update if I'm reading it right.

Looks like that was updated just in the last few minutes. (serendipity in action)

I like some stuff and don't need other functions. I wish there was a way to pick and choose. I sure would like transparency over the white boxes in the flight planner.

This is like when people delete default liveries (sometimes causing issues)

Why not simply ignore the features you don't intend to use?

This Issue seems to be fixed with Update 2.1..
