Post your loading times!

Recommended Posts

Exactly 3:00 from clicking on MSFS in windows menu to main screen of the simulator. I have 46.4GB of files in the community folder and a few more stuff from the Marketplace installed.

I think a lot of the loading times can be mainly played in part with your internet connection. As I have said in previous posts - my internet isn't the greatest with a ping of 16ms, 92.10 down and 16.92 up.

I find some of these times interesting considering the first two splash screens from Asobo and Blackshark AI take up pretty much a minute.

2:35 to the main menu with nothing in the community folder and using the fastlaunch option. Feels like an eternity to me.

Interesting that my time is among the worst, considering I don’t have the biggest community folder, am skipping the splash screens, and have MSFS on an ssd.

I don't think it's the size of the Community folder as much as what type of addons you're loading. I try to keep the active links to a minimum but then I forgot about Acronis TI doing a backup.

3 minutes, 25 seconds

very modest computer: Rhyzen 3600 cpu at 3.6 Gz

community 27.7GB

official .....196.9 GB

I am using the Steam Fast Launch option, i.e. does not show the BlackShark, MS, or Asobo splash intro videos.

Fast launch can be chosen for any Steam game.

STEAM, LIBRARY, MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR, MANAGE (SHIP'S WHEEL ICON), PROPERTIES, GENERAL, LAUNCH OPTIONS, -FastLaunch

in other words type -FastLaunch in that box.

Xbox store version: I saw an Avsim message showing the modifier you add at the end of Flightsimulator.exe file in its shortcut box, probably the same modifier -FastLaunch

You know its done right when you no longer see BlackShark video, etc.

Excellent tip @Fielder. Thank you.  That reduced my start time from my previous posting of 4m:45s, to just 3m:50s.That's with the 'checking updates' which of course is always subject to my appalling internet speed.👍👍

Cheers

Terry

No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.

Seems Blueshark747 1:24 and Sanh "1:00"  should share how?

As for the rest of us it seem stream fast start and cutting out the slaphscreens are the way to go to get faster. When you cut out a few 🙄 replies here, most are the same ball park figures. Some seem slow.

This shows a target off 2:40 is about the best we can hope for.

Here is a link for how to do a fast start. (I will try this over the weekend)
