AIG and KATL

Rhett, Asobo did hand craft KATL for one of the World Updates. That may be why it's broken, human error.

Some airports were hand made, some were done via AI and OpenStreetMap.

- launch ADE

- menu file -> create project from stock
- type KATL in the IDENT field, set project name, then click on GO
- leave the rest as default -> then 'save'

I couldn't get past Go. Disregard, I found the solutuion

Bad_T, tried your file tonight and all runways taking off like they should. Tried with winds from 270 and all 5 runways took off towards the west. Reloaded with winds from 90 and all 5 runways were used for takeoffs to the east. After a while I did get some opposite end landings even while planes were taking off on the same runways, but I think this is Asobo problems.

It's funny how that one node screwed all runways for takeoffs.

Dave, would you consider sharing your revised files somewhere

I would for sure, but right now the SDK is still too quirky and the results are less than what I think are good enough to share.

i7-13700KF, 32gb DDR4 3200,  RTX 4080, Win 11, MSFS 2024

thanks @Phantoms for the feedback, cool if the takeoffs are now fixed but unfortunately i think @Dave_YVR is correct in saying that all this is not ready for 'prime time' yet

sure my little test AFCAD fixed the departures for the AI, but i read a bit inside the ADE documentation and it seems the current alpha-version does not support NAVAIDS/ILS, so my AFCAD probably removes most if not all ILS making it completely useless. So yeah there is some hope but we are still far from there.

Maybe Dave will have more input on this as he seems to have a lot of knowledge on that, for me it was just a quick first test without any experience so i did not notice this right away. I launched the sim with my AFCAD and 111.75 was getting no ILS signal, i relaunched without the modified AFCAD and it gave me the correct IPKU identifier, so yeah it seems the modified AFCAD broke it.

As i said i'm not experienced, take all this with caution as it might not be 100% correct 😜🙊🍻

Thanks for trying. It seems we are at Asobo's mercy. Hopefully they will eventually fix it.

I believe the issue with ADE and ILS was fixed a while ago.

https://www.fsdeveloper.com/forum/threads/still-cant-add-an-ils-to-stock-airports.450877/page-3#post-873394

Either way, I removed to grey dots from the runway Dave referenced, compiled the airport and flew around ATL at 3000 ft and received ILS identifier/signal on each end of all the runways.

Thanks for the info @Noncon, cool if it's fixed, gives some hopes, maybe i missed something in my test.

When you create a new project (i guess you use the 'create from stock' option') when the airport opens up in the editor do you see the ILS. Do you see something if you use the 'Lists -> Navaids' function ?. On my end i don't see any (tried different airports) so i guessed they were removed (unless it's normal to not see them).

When doing my tests 1 ILS showed up in sim, but 2 others not, so it was just very confusing but i tested maybe too quickly from the ground, i probably need to do some more tests.
