ASOBO PC-6 vs MilViz PC-6?

Recommended Posts

Anyone get a chance to try out the new ASOBO PC-6 who also has the Milviz PC-6? If so, let us know what you think as to the comparison betwixt the two 🙂

here's a few things i noticed off the bat:

1) none of the doors open
2) there's no autopilot
3) haven't figured how to cut off the red fuel condition lever
4) the cabin light switch doesnt work (so no cabin lights at night)
5) textures are awesome and crisp
6) the prop startup and run animations still suck
7) the engine feels pretty underpowered compared to Milviz

I tried the float version for a bit, water rudder didn't work properly. I thought they fixed those problems. I like the Milviz one much better so far but I'll check out the stock non-float versions too.

so dissapointing.

I was hoping this version would save me $30 but I guess not.
Looks like I'll have to get the Milviz version after all.

Ciao!

Asobo usually update their aircraft over time so I might get better. For now, I think the Milviz version is just more polished.

The cabin light works, it's the switch on the ceiling, not on the lights panel.

It also has autopilot, at least the G1000 version does.

There is another PC-6 in development too, by FSG.  I own the Milviz PC-6 but likely will buy the FSG one too.  Anyway, below is the thread on the FSG PC-6:

The PC6 is a bit like a c172, no harm having a few variants.

My hunch is the best of the proposed versions will be the FSG one due out in early 2022 ...

Can someone tell me what the max range of the MilViz Porter is,  with and without tanks.   All versions of the Asobo Porter have the same 450nm range.

Obviously, the exact range will depend on a bunch of variables, but the Milviz Porter gets an additional 128 gallons from the underwing tanks (the standard tanks hold 170 gallons), which is around another 3 hours of flying at a 40GPH fuel burn, so probably about another 350 miles of range in still air.

As a freebie I imagine it'll also be modded to within an inch of its life in due course.
