December 5, 20214 yr Default KMCO airport: I get the "Loading scenery objects..." window without any progress bar. However, after 4 to 5 minutes the sim finally loads the progress bar and does load the scenario. Performance at KMCO Orlando is very stuttery. Thus, I would guess that there could be some missing content/objects that the sim is not finding during loading. December 5, 20214 yr Had a look at the scenery files and the default object file OBX26210.bgl is about 10 times larger than the next largest scenery object file. This is the object file for KMCO and other airports in the Florida area. Also when I try to load an airport in ADE (Airport Design Editor) from the default APX26210.bgl airport file, the objects will not load. I can load default airports from surrounding areas in ADE not in the default APX26210.bgl airport file, the objects do show up. Do not have a solution, just for info only. Hopefully LM will look into this. I also hope they can just release a new OBX26210.bgl file instead of a full hotfix. A full install is a lot of work to reinstall for just one file. I have posted this in the LM forum post for the KMCO issue. Here is a link if you want to follow: KMCO not loading in P3Dv5.3 - Prepar3D Forums John C. Specs: black box thingy with spinning fans, lights and a bunch of wires that go to screens with pretty colours and a keyboard with many keys. The black box thingy also has a push button activated coffee cup holder. John C.

OBX26210.bgl is definitely the culprit. Its 906Mb large in v5.3. Something was not compiled correctly! I replaced it with the same file from v5.2HF1 which is only 7.04MbNo issue loading up default KMCO or T2G KMCO using the older OBX26210.bgl Makes me wonder if there are other areas suffering from the same problem. There have been reports since V5.2HF1 of framerates suddenly tanking and CPU usage becoming very erratic. Typically occurring during cruise. I wonder if this is caused by flying into scenery areas with these massive faulty stock .bgl files. As reported above, it actually was possible to load up at default KMCO with this massive .bgl. However, once loaded the FPS were in the single digits...makes me wonder if this is all related considering LM began updating stock vector data in v5.2 Edited December 5, 20214 yr by PinkPony
December 5, 20214 yr does true earth make OBX26210.bgl not used anymore? If so that would explain why some of us are able to load mco just fine 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

However, once loaded the FPS were in the single digits...makes me wonder if this is all related considering LM began updating stock vector data in v5.2 Agreed, I'm fairly sure the OBX26210.bgl has an issue because of its large size compared to other files. According to the Fixes and Improvements, LM did change to PBR textures for objects, buildings, airport vehicles, etc. Like you, I can get KMCO to load after 5 or more minutes with single digit FPS. I tried loading EHAM as well which is included in the second largest OBXxxxx.bgl file at about 99MB. it loaded a lot faster that KMCO but the FPS was about 11 to 12 for me. If the PBR textures are the issue for lower FPS, LM may have to offer a dual install with the standard textures or the PBR textures. Far as stock vector data, I do not use it. Still has a lot of issues where I mainly fly in western Canada. This includes lakes with elevation issues and missing major rivers. Using ORBX vector instead. I may install the 5.2 scenery with the 5.3 content and client and see how that goes or just go back to 5.2 HF1. I rather be flying than tweaking stuff. 5.2 was very stable for me, 117 flights and 292 hours without any issues. John C. December 6, 20214 yr I guess there will be a hotfix coming for this issue. Although no one from LM has responded to the thread in the P3D forum yet.

All we can do is hope they see it. The public LM forum is barely moderated as is. Always the same two users responding to every thread with the same (my sim runs perfectly) making any form of productive interaction virtually impossible. I guess getting this thing fixed will come down to sheer luck? I’m very happy I backed up my old v5.2 installation for once. Copying the previous .bgl version fixes the KMCO area bug in v5.3 I guess implementing a proper a support ticket system for a “academic/professional” sim is asking for too much. Copying the previous .bgl version fixes the KMCO area bug in v5.3 I didn't back up anything from v5.2. I was going to get the older bgl file from LM but then I remembered that they don't have older downloads once a new version is out. I guess I will have to wait (and hope) LM fixes this.

Loaded P3DV5.3 with the large OBX26210.bgl file and it contains a lot of real buildings in the Orlando area that are not included in the smaller OBX26210.bgl files. The airports objects look the same, just a lot more real buildings that are there in real life in built-up areas in the Orlando area. I didn't look into how far these added buildings extend from the Orlando area. John C. December 7, 20214 yr Moderator @johncott, good catch, thanks. I've replaced the v5.3 ones with those from my 5.2 backup. Hopefully LM will sort this out with a download. I used TreeSizePro to search for any other scenery files >500Mb and the Orlando ones were the only ones. Normal service has resumed at KMCO. Ray (Cheshire, England). Hi Ray, I used Little Nav Map to find out which apx belong to KMCO which was 26210 and then look at the cvx and obx files for the same area and noticed the obx one was way larger. I also have a back up and compared the obx files between 5.2 and 5.3. The obx26210.bgl at first glance looks like the only one that is unusually large and the others seem to to match up closely in size. I do use the free version of treesize often as well, awesome program. John C.
