I'm not saying this is the cause with ASP3D and the problem with weather transitions others have reported as I haven't experienced the problem "yet" with latest ASP3D.

I haven't come across any other report so far that sudden weather transitions are gone, but if this is true it would be a huge step forward. What about the same weather everywhere?

Excellent video and review !

Thanks !

The new Fly Tampa EHAM is absolutely brutal if you have an 8 GB card. I have a GTX 2080 and I get constant out of VRAM error and crashes.

thats what happens when you make scenerys with a ton of eye candy to create USP's to be able to sell products to simmers.

another perfect example of this is the below example of Fsdreamteam KORD, which gets the teenagers all excited which then in turn sells products.  and in my opinion, completely pointless.  But umbertos got a living to make.

Umberto has admitted more eye candy means more sales.  same as flytampa.

Alas more eye candy means more proformance issues.

In 10+ years Ive never got in or out of CYYZ or KLAS without proformance issues.

To be fair to FSDT, that extra eye candy is only visible when you chose avatar mode, so it has no impact on flying into KORD.
Umberto will tell you the exact same thing, in a much longer post, any minute now... 😁

Toronto area is a problematic mess, no matter whether you use default or an add-on package.

As for KLAS, I turn off all animated vehicles except the airside ones. Some of the other eye candy can go too if you still have stutters, but it works well for me with the landside vehicles gone.

The 'simple' answer is just to buy better hardware. Except I realise that it's not that simple to find a good GPU, let alone one that isn't horrifically overpriced. My upgrade from the GTX 1070 to the RTX 3080 Ti was word not allowed pricey (but not scalper expensive) and it has made my P3D so much more fluid.

Yep I agree however those prices are ridiculous to begin with lol, but happy with my 3080 t... 😎

I've tried it with both the FSL A320 and the PMDG 777. 90 and 102 mb respectively. There are multiple posts on Fly Tampa's site about this issue. I'm not using EA, just ASCA textures with Active Sky.

Curious what your slider settings are 😉

Most of them are at about 3/4. I don't run anything all the way to the right. This is the only airport I have VRAM issues with. I have quite a few payware airports and have not had this problem anywhere else.

you have to understand with Schiphol there is going a lot on a very very small area regarding airfields and towns and water(canals) and traffic compared to other parts of the world... (small country to begin with and a complex airport)

My settings and I have a high end system not running into any problems so maybe it's helpful...

Thanks, I'll give it a try. I'm also running AIG and it has no effect on VRAM so that's a plus.

I haven't run into a transition problem yet with the following ASP3D settings:

  • Download Intervals = 15 min
  • Prevent Download on Approach = Enable
  • VATSIM online weather = Disable
  • Auto load Flight Plan = Enable
  • Use Navigraph data VOR NDB = Enable
  • Suppress local weather change = Disable
  • Prevent ASP3D EA Volumetric Cloud Control = Enable
  • Enable detail EA clouds = Disable
  • Cloud Motion Effect = Disable
  • Fog layer generation = Disable
  • Disable default haze layer = Disable

HiFi use double negatives in their options which can cause some confusion.

P3D:

  • EA On
  • Volumetric Clouds High
  • Volumetric Fog On

I run ASP3D in a network configuration.

Cheers, Rob.

Hey Rob

Do you have an updated guide or recommendations for ASP3D?
