Kodiak 100 Controller Sensitivity Settings

Featured Replies

I'm interested in what aileron, pitch and rudder sensitivity settings users are finding seems to work best with the Kodiak. My understanding is the developer recommends linear settings for all.

Thanks,

Al

I tried linear settings but that was too twitchy, so I went back to the s-curve.

Different controllers react differently. Not everyone will have best results from linearity. My yoke elevator is a curve too. The Logitech Pro is far too sensitive for a straight line.

Someone here (Bert?) lowered the values in the flight_model config to smooth out reactivity. That actually works nicely too.

Same.

I think, as Danno says, it depends on what controller you're using.

It may also depend on how you are flying. Are you flying full realism or have certain assistances turned on. I don't do wind, engine damage, or g-force stresses etc (jush crash damage) and fly nicely with no needed changes to my JS sensitivities. Rudder assistance is always turned off as I never liked the way that works.

On'y change I have made is rudder sensitivity to -70.

On my Honeycomb yoke I left Ailerons linear 0% and elevator -30%.  Saitek rudder pedals at -60%.

I"m also using an "S" curve for the rudder although currently I'm doing it just through FSUIPC7 to see how that seems to work.

Thanks for all the inputs,

Al

This thread and another goes into sensitivity settings so I checked yesterday and was running linear. Changed to an S curve with the elevator at -40 and it is exponentially better. Less jerky with very smooth adjustments now.

I had to drastically alter my curves for rudders and yoke inputs.
I also adjust the brakes on all GA aircraft as IRL you steer a lot at low speeds with the brakes and with the brakes at 90 or 100% it's too abrupt and stops the plane.  At 70 to 80% I find MSFS does a better job of mimicking IRL GA aircraft handling.

These are specifically for the SWS Kodiak 100
