For some reason it created nasty stutters, when I mean nasty, it almost resmbled stutters associated with some kind of hardware issue, as the stutters were combined with a crackle! Difficult to explain. Very odd. At first I couldn't see how a mesh could introduce such an issue, but I persevered and tried removing and then reintroudcing the mesh at least six or seven times and each time I flew with the mesh, I had the problem. Needless to say it now resides elsewhere. Not impressed. The same situation with free mods from flightsim.to (Italian Alps 10 DEM, Austria 10 DEM, Switzerland DEM) and with TABURET MESH ( Italy 10 DEM) For me MSFS become unplayable with third-parts mesh mods, huge stutters and freeze. I reported this issue to the authors, i hope they fix it I opened a discussion in the Ufficial MSFS Forum, please report there or to the authors directly if you are in the same situation. And then publish that for MSFS. 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. February 4, 20224 yr I have a fairly beefy PC, but I have found 10m to be about the best balance for me. I would love 5m, but as some have said, that would introduce performance problems. I stick to 10m now. I have found some of the free ones on flightsim.to to be just as good as the payware ones, and they probably use the same base data so that is why. I deleted my free Switzerland mesh after Asobo did the world update for the region, as I believe they went down to 10 metres anyway, and it performs fine and doesn't look too bad. This doesn't stop the morphing of course. Orbx say they have used a technique to optimise their New Zealand mesh to try to alleviate the morphing, and it does seem better, so hopefully others can adopt what they do. I have seen this in FSX and P3D also, so it is a fundamental problem with displaying the mesh in these sims that use the same base code, and probably needs to be tackled at some stage. This is linked to the morphing coastlines as well of course. At least it is on the Asobo list to be looked at. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio. February 7, 20224 yr I dont see anything wrong with the Norway mesh, infact its the best mesh I have ever seen for Norway... Its my home country so im basing it on what I see out the window....
March 12, 20224 yr free for those who have taburet norway mesh from simmarket simMarket : TABURET - NORWAY COASTLINES MORPHING EFFECTS FIX MSFS
March 13, 20224 yr I have many freeware and payware meshes for around the world but unfortunately after the last sim update they now cause unmanageable stuttering and freezing. And I'm playing with an RTX 3090. I hope this gets fixed soon as Norway is also one of my favorite places to fly, along with New Zealand. I too would love 10m (or even 5m) DEM! imagine flying up those fjords with perfect vertical walls rising up 1000 feet or more. that's what super high DEM can promise us!

Suggest you complain to MS Zendesk.. I have, twice.. 😉 Bert

I have been to Norway three times and I don't see the problem either.
December 5, 20232 yr Commercial Member Default Norway mesh morphing like a jojo. Norway 15 m mesh; yes less resolution than default now-days; but avoiding terrible morphing effects; to be honest rather have less resolution than a bouncing terrain fest. Edited December 5, 20232 yr by arsenal82
December 5, 20232 yr 10m really should be the standard baseline these days. I was running 5m across the entire UK in P3Dv4. With LOD ranges close to the user for performance reasons, rather than extended into the further distance, terrain popping becomes unavoidable. 14 minutes ago, Christopher Low said: 10m really should be the standard baseline these days. Personally, I think 5m should be the baseline. There's so much detail missing even at 10m (and I was spoiled by a high quality mesh add-on in P3D). It's getting better, though.
