So they should not post pictures of new stuff they worked on? The funny this is, wet effects are looking much better than what the competetion offers. Edited January 8, 20224 yr by mtaxp

Are we talking about the visual representation or the simulation? What is more important in a simulator? Ok, I don't want to torture you any longer. Weather settings in XP 11, runway conditions. When you set the temperature below 0° C, you get icy conditions, and the following. BTW: believe it or not, it was this way already in XP 10. And in XP 9. That's what I know for sure. I assume it was already in XP 8, possibly even earlier. How is this solved in the other "simulator"? As I wrote already earlier (do you remember the comparison with the Potemkin Villages?) - FSX and MSFS 2020 are beguilers in this (and many other) regards. All bark and no bite. Ok ... for making it even easier understandable: in XP (partly) wet and icy runways are simulated since ages, however, you are right, in the regard that it wasn't represented visually (until XP 12). In the other sims it was/is the other way round, namely represented visually, but not simulated. Potemkin Villages ... as I said. Sure ... I know ... who needs simulated wet/icy runways when he can have nice looking wet ones, which behave like dry ones? January 8, 20224 yr I am grateful to Laminar that the eye candy came late, otherwise it would have been driven by art and not physics. I am also grateful to them for not ditching Mac and Linux users by adopting DirectX. They waited for Vulkan and Metal to evolve and mature (along with the drivers of course).

The important thing is that it is here finally! 😍 Maybe 5 years later in some "eye-candy" features, but 10 years in advance in other (flight simulating) features! 😍 I feel so sorry for the haters... 🤭 "Society has become so fake that the truth actually bothers people".

As a user of FSX, P3D, X-Plane 11 and now MSFS I have never been able to find any solid truth in these claims. I remember the feeling of disappointment after my first take off roll in the default X-Plane 11 C172. After all the hype I read about X-Plane being the holy grail in flight simulation it felt just like any other flying game... Nevertheless, I'm looking forward to X-Plane 12 and what it will bring, the screenshots look promising! Cheers, Bert AMD Ryzen 5900X, 32 GB RAM, RTX 3080 Ti, Windows 11 Home 64 bit, MSFS 2024
