Nice little tool shows ILS frequencies in-sim

Featured Replies

Hi guys, thought I share this one with you.
Makes my life much easier.
And should also work well in VR I heard.

The problem with pretty much every ILS that I've seen so far in MSFS is that it's not aligned to the runway. Asobo didn't take into consideration the magnetic deviation.

I believe that's because they changed the parameter in the corresponding xml file from "true heading"  to "magnetic" ...

Since when is that the case? I haven‘t noticed this, maybe because I‘ve focused on RNAV and VOR/DME approaches lately, so it‘s possible that I missed it.

I can't think of any ILS I've flown that haven't been aligned to the runway, so far.

The add-on which the OP is referring to helps in giving the ILS frequencies and tuning-in the NAV radios in your plane. It's very helpful, as I have discovered that Little Navmap, which I also use, doesn't give you the ILS numbers except on the map view, for some airports.

Cheers, Ed

I have seen a few, mostly payware airports, which is crazy considering your paying for a more realistic addon. So many failed at this in the first year, but now seem to be getting their act together.

Me either, all the ILS and Rnavs seem to be aligned with the runway, unless they are offset approaches.

I use Avliasoft EFB, and all approaches and Frequencies as well are listed as well as morse codes.

Will look into it. Thanks

This was purely from editing the ADE's, every ILS that I've seen so far is off by it's magnetic deviation. This is all from default MSFS scenery, none from payware.

Oddly enough, I just went and checked the various ILS's at BOS and they all seemed fine even though the ADE shows them ALL as being far offline to centerline. Maybe it's an issue with how Asobo coded the sim or how ADE reads the new data? No idea, I'll just see myself out now, lol..

I had this problem at some airports before I subscribed to Navigraph, but after that all the ILS and Rnavs have been aligned with the runway.

Yes, ADE is currently showing the ILS's incorrectly. There is a discussion about that on the ADE forum. Keep in mind that ADE for MSFS 2020 is still in Alpha phase.
