February 28, 20224 yr May he needs to log out and then log back in. For me is always as simple as updating the xbox ap, updating msfs, then loading the sim. It's taking a lot longer to download the 4GIG than normal, but it's usually done in about 1/2 hour. MSFS
February 28, 20224 yr Author DJJose I went to the site (xbox App) and saw your screen, Game pass, Social and store to the left was Micr... Flight Simulator and I pressed the Triangular (Play button) ,It simply starts the sim. next to it is the three button and I do not see Update Manny Beta tester for SIMStarter
February 28, 20224 yr For the last few updates, maybe 3-4, I’ve had to update through the Xbox app. The really simple question I have is why do they make us do the dance between apps? When the sim is “checking for updates” and finds a mandatory update, just download in the sim, OR, close the sim, download the update, and restart the sim automatically. Cmon, your Microsoft for cryin out loud. You guys have been doing this for decades!

It's a PITA. 😀 MSFS

February 28, 20224 yr It's just a crappy update process. Load game, check for updates, game gives a message it should be updated through the store, you go to store, then library and look for MSFS, it has an update available, you click on it only to get a message to update it through the Xbox app. If Xbox app isn't up to date, MSFS can't be updated so... you update the Xbox app, go there again to update MSFS and then update some stuff again in the game. imho that's just a crappy update chain and then they wonder why people buy stuff on Steam. It should be: run MSFS --> detection there's an update --> update --> done. Why doesn't MS get that straight? February 28, 20224 yr Maybe Microsoft is such a small company that it can't afford to hire a couple of guys to fix the update procedure for the games they sell? 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. I am SO glad I spent an additional £100 on the Steam version (had the store version so already paid)! I feel the pain when I read threads like this as I had to go through four days without MSFS at an SU update. Many say they have no pain with the store version, but the forum has many threads like this at update time. At update time Steam has already updated in the background, so click MSFS and away you go.
