I personally would like for PMDG just get the thing out the door and worry about all the nickel-dime texture stuff later 😅

No way man…these are the same folks who threw a tantrum over the Twin Otter’s wheels not being smooth enough🤣😂

Dear PMDG please take your time!

Looks pretty ugly, it also doesn't look this way in the real 737, at least based on what I've seen. Could be depicted a little better for this day in age is what I'm saying.

Resolution could be better, but then again it's not bad and when are you ever that close with the camera to a foot rest anyway. I have countless hours in the NGXu in VR so I can freely move around the cockpit as in real life and I don't recall ever having paid any attention to the foot rest at all and certainly not to what resolution that is.

This is what it is by the way, a foot rest. The reason why this one on the screenshot looks different to you is because these are almost always severely worn down to the point you see the bare material underneath. The original NGX looks like this. PMDG laser scan the cockpit of the real aircraft for their addons and RSR said the aircraft they got access to for the NG3 was pretty new, so they are modelling a newer cockpit as well. Hence the food rest looking different to just about every other 737 out there that has at least a few years under its belt.

I feel like I've seen this picture or ones essentially just like it 10 times already. Boring.

^^^ What Threegreen says.  The footrest texture looks just fine to me.

I know we all use sims differently, and I really do think that's cool - and I mean that sincerely.  Even so, I've been really quite surprised to see some of the things people are focusing on in these upcoming releases... the animation of an engine spinner?  How a footrest on the bottom of the panel looks when your eye is 12 inches from it?  When would you ever even see these things when flying the plane like a plane?

It is neat to see how varied the hobby is.

I tried to vet the 73x cockpit videos on YT to try and find the resemblance, but couldn't. Am I alone in thinking this needs to be retextured a bit?

That odd looking material really does look like that in real life, at least for a little while. It is simply glued on to the lip of the ledge, and is a foam pleather like material, and it goes away in pretty short order as the pilots and mechanics both tend to rest their feet on the ledge and before long it is either worn or torn away.

Your talent is a gift from God. How you use your talent is your gift back to God.

Could care less if something was a little off in terms of textures.

I would rather have that than deal with a poorly released aircraft without any proper updates.

I am looking at you Next Gen Simulations and their EMB 110!

Apparently, the Aerosoft Twin Otter is going through some bad teething issues as well.

PMDG will deliver. They always do.

This part has exactly same texture at real aircraft too. Pilots are using this as a foot rest. Some time later, this part partly worn and bare metal seen... But maybe texturing can be improved.

If you want to lecture me on informal forms of writing then how about we teach you about fallacies and attacking someone's character?

Ad hominem. Struck a nerve? You must be really fun at parties. Its a flight simulation forum. I am not writing a formal paper so using that phrase is perfectly acceptable in an informal setting. There is plenty of criticism to be shared around any forum and since you solely pointed me out I am assuming you didn't like what I said. Instead of discussing my thoughts and ideas, you instead attack something else that isn't related to the topic.

A bit out of order IMO, for one you do not know if English is their first language, so to point out other's mistakes does reek of snobbery!

I know what you mean. For a second here I thought we were on the Aerosoft forums.

Wait. Did I write this correctly? 😆

The overwhelming majority of people don't exactly care how they write on forums. Since that's the case, he would have a field day in every one of these forums being a grammar (can't say this word on here).

Christopher was simply pointing out that couldn’t is the opposite of could so unless corrected the opposite would apply.

Example: I did like you could become I didn’t like you.

It’s not the spelling police - just changing it so the sentence was what the originator meant. 😉

Yeah, PMDG will deliver a good product. I may not purchase on the day of release, however.

And be careful of how you write in the informal setting on forums. You may be attacked for forgetting to prevent sentences run-ons! 😅
