I fly an RV-9A (my avatar pic), so this should be cool!

So the latest version of the freeware RV7 is 100% payware quality, love the G3x and steam gauge versions, with the working titles 530 and 430 mods, its pretty easy to navigate, steam and glass versions, 7 and 7a.... yeah, its not the SAME, but its an older model Vans, and for free, its stellar.

This one is lovely, will say, apparently popping the breaker on the backup attitude gives you the fps back, sim glitch I think there... Overall nice plane, really flies nicely and will tollerate silliness rather well.

Not given a ETA on date of release or price, but I expect you'll get info soon now the Kodiak patch is out.

Yeah - if you contact TDS they have an SDK to get the GTN Xi working too.  I understand people like the PMS unit - I just like my GTN to behave exactly like the real one so I use TDS.

There's an awful lot to be said for being able to use the sim's Navdata

I think allowing the customer to have options to use which GTN they wish to use is probably the better approach. A few addons already allow you to use the PMS GTN or the TDS GTN so then it covers the best of both worlds.

I absolutely agree.

It does seem that implementing both of these isn't that much extra work for devs so hopefully we'll see both options becoming increasingly common in appropriate 3rd party aircraft over time.

Totally overrated to use sim navdata.  It's honestly overrated to even have updated data every 28 days in the sim.  Believe me I work air traffic irl - and the data updates we see are usually just updating the procedure to a new number.  Example BAINY3 vs BAINY4 - FAA hardly ever changes anything.  Occasionally they change the name of a fix in a procedure - that's rare though.  And the odds of it being on of the airports you happen to fly to in the sim are even more rare.

I'd much rather have a GPS work just like the one I use irl.

However as some people claim they need navdata - you can always use the PMS verison!  I know this RV will use both.

LOL, well thank you for putting me straight, the problems I've had with out of date data in the Uk are obviously just an illusion 🙂
