I will make a bold statement about the Super Connie

I've best testing version 1.8 which adds a lot of failures like flaps, ailerons, pitot heat , bird strike etc.  It has now more depth and more failures than the PMDG DC-6. All the failures have an associated VFX to it. It also has co-pilot and Flight engineer AI to help you. They will warn you of failure and even interact to fix the failures, if you chose to do so.  It is a more complete product that PMDG DC-6 IMO once that version 1.8 is release to the public. I think a lot of you are going to be surprised how much better it is now compare to the initial release. So if you were on the fence about getting it, I think now it's the time to do so.

I wouldn't make that statement lightly. The DC-6 has not had any updates for months while the connie as been getting better and better. This version 1.8 is a huge leap forward

interactive failures in an aircraft on this level. Thinking is this a first for MSFS 2020

Thanks for the heads up FBT. Adds so much more immersion to flying imo

Brilliant stuff!

Good stuff...I quite like the RW Connie, it gets more time from me than the DC-6. Both are nice but the Connie has oodles of character and by the looks of it RW is really trying to up the ante. Very excited for this update.

I think for the foreseeable future, the way the DC6 is now is the way it will stay. Looks like it is on PMDG's back burner.

Did they correct the totally unrealistic engine idle? The last vid (1.7)about this plane I saw, show a idle at 1800 RPM! Also blades are at feather position before engine start which is incorrect!

MSFS - XPlane11 & 12- P3D5 - DCS - Windows 10 64 bit - Corsair One i140 - i7 9700K 3.6Ghz - nVidia GeForce TRX 2080

This is being worked on in Version 1.8.

It is not but as soon as Version 1.8 is complete, I do believe RedWing will bring this to the marketplace.

I like and fly the Connie way more than the DC-6.

But I always separate my opinion about how good something is from how much I like it. What you like and what is good are two entirely different things. That's what's wrong about the new morality which says your liking something makes it OK.

I like the Connie better. But the DC-6 is a better simulation of a vintage plane.

I flew the A2A Connie for a couple of years. They did an excellent job with that aircraft. Just about the same depth as the DC6.
