Sadly MSFS itself has a hard time rendering bare metal properly at night....its not any dev's issue, its a sim issue.  If you have the DC6 and one of many bare metal paints, you'll see the same thing.

It looks just "ok" and certain angles, but not exactly how well daytime is rendered.

I dunno, Steve. I think she looks sexy sitting there with leading edges that look like... well... metal. To us non artists, that right there looks beautiful.

I kinda feel like a schoolboy that just saw his first naked lady. 😉

Thank you for the pic.

@Steve Dra the release is for next weekend

maybe.  There’s a pretty serious bug that needs to be squashed, so when he says next weekend, I think that is on the upper slope of positivity.

EDITED - with hindsight, my post was unwarranted. Apologies.

For those of you who can't seem to wait for PMDG to release the 737NG3 until they are ready, please remember that your first world problems regarding a toy plane are insignificant when compared to the suffering that others around the world are experiencing. A bit of perspective would seem to be appropriate here.

That's not helpful. And not called for either. It was, if they were complaining about the 737 release to an ucrainian refugee or something like that. But complaining on Avsim does not mean it's a problem that dominates their life or they speak about with their psychologist.

Nope...not going to do it....painted too many already.

Besides, it's included in the package by the great PMDG paint crew!

Thanks for posting those pics Steve. I know the BBJ's are PMDG's but yours are fantastic too, along with your sense of humour which some others could certainly do with around these Avsim pages 🙂

I think that BBJ, you know, the one with 'BBJ' on the tail ( I didn't repost it in case you tell Rob to deliver me the BBJ sans engines 😏), will be the frame that takes me on my MSFS world tour. There will of course be another Captain on board so I was planning to spend some time enjoying the flight from the cabin from time to time although it sounds like the floating drone may make this a tad tricky. Anyway. Well done Steve. You seem to be fond of sporting analogies so to use one from the southern hemisphere, in regards your paint work, for this bird. You have 'kicked for the seagulls'. There is no one there, so that's where the opportunities lie 🙂. Keep up the excellent work mate.

Cheers

Terry

Minor “quality of life” bugs that don’t affect the sim’s operation should not delay release, but this is not a minor bug. It is a major show-stopper issue. It may only happen under rare conditions, but that would be scant comfort to end-users who are affected. Can you imagine the hue and cry that would result if a brand-new PMDG customer’s 737 flipped upside down on landing at the end of a 4-hour flight, and the customer found out that PMDG was aware of that possibility and did nothing to correct it?

It would be irresponsible for any developer with an ounce of integrity to release a product to market with this kind of major lurking bug. I want to fly the 737 as much as you do, but if it takes three more weeks of work to find and definitely fix the issue, so be it. I (personally) would be perfectly willing to take the aircraft “as is” today and take my chances, but other customers would not be so understanding -especially those who are new to PMDG and the 737.

Knowing RSR, he will not release the plane unless he is satisfied this bug has been fixed - either by PMDG or Asobo, nor should he.

It would be like an auto manufacturer selling a car with a known 0.5 percent chance that the front wheels might come off at highway speed. Anything above 0.0 percent chance would be unacceptable.
