I didnt get a warning about inserting a disc but after an attempt to restart the sim I got a warning I was not logged into the X Box app or something.  Xbox app shows I am logged in but browsing lists of titles etc brings up an error as if its not fully online.  Got sim to start but the server status within the sim says OFFLINE

We’ve just finished flying the Alaska Bush trip with the Asobo crew on Twitch. Maybe they just turned off the servers when they went home for the night… 🙂

I think it's an authentication error then.  That was the very first message I got prior to the Game Disk message so the game 'servers' per se are probably not the primary issue there is just an issue w/ authentication.

Well I guess this pretty much shows us that if MSFS decides to pull the plug on support for MSFS, the sim and all addons will be headed for the dumpster.

On 4/25/2022 at 5:40 PM, Mike S KPDX said:  Wait till they go to subscription pay servers in a few years.  They are not going to stream scenery for 10 years.

I assume paid access to streaming for MSFS is where it's headed and if that's what it takes to pay the bills I'm very okay with it.  I have 5 other streaming services and don't use them nearly as much as I do MSFS.  Perhaps something like XBox Gold subscription for $60/year could work.  Steam shows around 6K users online at any one time, and there will likely be the same number of Store users so if that comes out to 15K users online at any one moment, we can extrapolate more total users as most are not online 24/7 so perhaps 25K users are dedicated regular flyers.  If this is so then 25,000 x $60/year comes out to $1,500,000 per year which will help pay the power and upkeep for these game servers.

Could you correct your quotation, I never made the remark you quoted.  Clearly I said “Or inserting a disk”

thank you.
